No. The further he goes the more exciting the presser will be. We can Wait.

I'm not gonna by that insurance for now and go without coverage hoping NMSU advances. Can you imagine how exciting it woulda be for him making the Elite 8 or something and Cohen not screwing up? Plus I prefer Pigs Squealing knowing bacon is on the way than them enjoying a mud bath.
The only thing we could do is move Stinnett to Friday's. We are outmanned all season on Friday nights. Our best chance to get to a regional is to win Sat/Sun games. Maybe Preston and Cade with Hunt/B. Smith/Auger out of the pen gives us the best chance to do that. Basically we would just throw off on Friday's or Stinnett gets hot and we win a few Friday night games.
Tepper and Fristoe I would agree with. Tullar is a matchup guy. If we have to use him other than that, which we have, we're in trouble. The rest I would say are very average for SEC standards. The frosh (Walker, Kohn and Cheatham)just aren't ready for SEC.
I'm good with starting Stinnett on Friday's because I could see him catching lightning in a bottle every now and then. If he pitches like he did against Texas Tech I could see us stealing some Friday's.
Stinnett can not come out of the bullpen. Mentally he just can't do it.
Foxhall hasn't put them in a lot of situations to succeed in my opinion as well. It seems like they come in with the bases loaded and no one out after Tullar can't figure things out again or after Brandon Smith is on his third or fourth inning and worn out.
He's putting guys that are trying to pitch to contact into strikeout situations.
Stinnett has been garbage out of the pen, so I think you start him. I think you have two options...
1) What Todd said...Stinnett on Friday in hopes that every 2-3 starts you can steal one when he's "on". That still gives you Preston and Cade on Sat and Sun to try to win the series.
2) Fristoe on Friday. Forces him to grow up and figure it out, and worst case we get blown out. Then you start Stinnett on Saturday and put Preston back in the pen to piggyback off of Stinnett. Then Cade and your best bullpen arms (if there is such a thing), on Sunday to try to win a rubber game.
It's a no for me to start Stinnett on Friday, he hasn't shown he can handle the pressure and Friday starters usually are teams best options for the pressure. I'd move he or hopefully Hunt to Sunday. But we shall see today how this situation goes, gotta hit, Georgia is a veteran club that can hit and looks to play decent defense.
I actually have brought this up a couple of times. Case and point is yesterday, Fristoe already has next to no confidence so our thought is go ahead and run him out there when he is almost guaranteed to either give up the game winning hit or walk in the winning run. I would have gone to Talley or Auger there because they are more consistent strike throwers. One of Fristoe?s main problems is that when he starts to miss he tends to leave balls right over the heart of the plate to get it over for a strike.
It may sound crazy but I might start Fristoe on Friday and at the first sign of trouble, ie. walk, HR, not locating, etc., go get Stinnett. Basically already have Stinnett hot in the pen with the mindset that he is going to go in early.
The other option is tell each one of them they have 60 pitches so figure it out.
Completely agree!
And we didn't even use Talley this weekend. That situation would have warranted it. As much issues as we have- no reason to overextend Smith like that. I think he messed Tepper up by doing the same thing to him against Tulane as he did Fristoe.
I just don't think Stinnett can mentally handle coming out of the bullpen. He's proven that time and time again.
Lemon has stinnett and Fristoe where they belong. Thing about Stinnett is he needs to learn to face adversity a whole lot better. When that error happened he fell apart faster than the French Army in 1940. Cade has impressed me so far due to the way he faces a bad inning or a screwup by the D. He brushes it off.
