Appreciate the info. This portal stuff is pretty crazy
Thanks SVS!
Williams and Thompson would be two major reaches and leave only one more receiver spot. That's bad recruiting!
Some of you ignore talent for production. Kevin Coleman was a talent over production pick up from last year.
What does everybody think about Mi'Quise Grace, edge from South Dakota? On campus today.
Williams will be on his visit later today. I would expect we wrap that one up in pretty short order.
Commit in coming
Allen committed
No way around it, I am not understanding the WR recruiting right now. We are talking guys who were average MAC players. I mean maybe that is all we can get, but either way that will not win in this league.
And I am not saying I was sold on James either. The guy had one blow up game in a bowl game. And I get that his height was the reason we took Allen. But unless you feel damn solid on Evans and Williams, you do not pass up on the 6’2 SEC guy who runs a 4.3 for a MAC guy with the same height who had slightly above average stats at that level.
I know some on our coaching staff believe that System > Talent and that we will get production out of the guys we plug in, and I hope they are right, but at this point, no real point in arguing the talent has gone down at WR and CB and potentially OL. I think QB and HB are a wash, unless Booth comes back and then its a huge upgrade.
Defensively our front seven has improved a great deal, the only question I have is have we gone from bottom of the SEC to a top 9-10 DL. I'm not sure we have, I know we have improved, just not sure how much.
Is James still a possibility?
Looks like Ayden Williams is close to committing.
He got into some trouble at Wisconsin. https://www.espn.com/college-footbal...tion-agreement
Booth is returning
Rosebowl has been adamant since the juco rule change Booth would return. Good call on his part.
It feels like we are going to rely on the running game more next year. Helps make the lack of wr pickups more tolerable.
