Odd situation. Something about this situation does not add up to me. Feels like a Brule situation 2.0
I won't be surprised if he's back on the market later in the process.

Is he even their #1 option for QB? This is extremely odd.
Completely different situations that aren't comparable outside of an instate guy leaving. Plumlee would've been a great fit at UNC as a QB because that's a much better situation for him to play QB than an instate school can offer.
Emery fits MSU's offense perfectly and is a better fit for him than LSU.
No one can even figure out how Plumlee fits at UGA.
Completely different situation and a lack of thought process by you before asking that question.
Plumlee can play QB. He is not very well coached right now and you see what he is capable of.
I do agree with Shotgun though that he probably will decommitt and some point. I think he ends up at MSU. We have done well with Oak Grove kids.
If OGHS ever gets another good HC they will go back to competing for titles. They were the most talented team we saw last year but one of the most poorly coached.
I don’t know a lot about Plumlee even though i am in hattiesburg but the usm people see him as their qb signee. They have been moaning and bitching at the thought of him going to an sec school to play wr or cb over going to usm and playing QB. I can imagine how bad it would be if he went to State or olemiss. I know this is usm fans but Plumlee is especially revered around here more than others probably because he is a qb.
There was a level headed usm fan in the conversation that i was hearing and he was sort of putting down those that were thinking that way.
My question is, just how good of a baseball player is he?
Here?s what I think:
Yes, he would love to play QB, but as he went through the process, he realized he wouldn?t really get a chance to be ?The Guy? at QB at any SEC, top- level P5 schools. So, with that being said, he basically saw the writing on the wall as being recruited as an ?athlete.? Every school could offer that and would love to add him to their class in that role/capacity. So, ultimately, it leveled the playing field somewhat and boiled down to things other than just position (academics, campus, prestige, etc), and its hard to argue against UGA on any of those fronts.
Plumlee and his dad got hung up on big names. He will never play QB or baseball beyond a small, small role. But he is a SEC athlete and might be a stud safety. One week it was Bama, one week Clemson, then GA. I don't see any situation where he ends up at State.
He’s one of the stiffest hitters I’ve seen. Has trouble with a relaxed approach and his rhythm sometimes is just too fast. He’ll struggle vs top pitching. He’s a workout freak, and a combine terror. If you can measure it, he can do it well. I’d love to have him as a safety prospect. Plus, he’s a smart kid. But he’s got zero interest in State. He knows QB is a bit of a pipe dream in the SEC. Most schools have told him as much.
I've seen him take it 99 yards on a QB draw in crunch time and I've seen him put on a Johnny Manziel impersonation at QB.
I dont understand why some think he cant play QB. If we all knew as much as some here thought they did we'd never lose a game. college football has become made for QBs like him not the tom brady types
Yeah and I've seen him play since he was 8. He's a great athlete there's no doubt about that but Uga didn't recruit him to play qb and he won't play qb for them. And there's plenty of people that scout these kids for a living that don't believe he can qb in the sec. And i know plenty about him as a baseball player. He will not hit better pitching. He's a great kid and his family is awesome but there's nothing wrong with saying he's a great athlete and won't be a great qb.
Because we’ve seen him a lot more than you. Some of us have done more than just watch him play. He’s a great kid and great athlete. He’s in the gym at 5 am every day. He’s a smart kid. He’s not an SEC QB. I will say, he’s got a better shot at State than UGA though. He’s just not very interested in State.
It's all good. He's one heck of an athlete. Great kid great family and I hope he has success. If he becomes the next Johnny football I'll be the first to say I was wrong, I just honestly believe his future is at db and probably be a heck of a punt/kick returner.
