This. I get the rule, kind of. But at the same time this targeting stuff has gotten out of control.

I really don't think it should be called when the defender is already in the act of going for the tackle and then the offensive player body position changes such that he becomes "vulnerable."

Example. I fire my bow at a deer and it's basically a miss. But sometimes a deer hears the arrow and hooks or ducks. Then deer actually ducks into an arrow that would've missed it. My Dad hit a deer in the neck for an instakill like that once! Anyway, it is like saying that my Dad meant to do that.
