I don't care much for Auburn but I wanted them to win that game for the conference as I dislike Oregon even more these days that they are taking recruits from us in state and from Alabama

Good win for Auburn, but they have much tougher games than that one still ahead. Oregon couldn?t match their physicality, that won?t be a problem for a quite a few teams they still have to play. Still not convinced Gus survives this year.

Was it Greg Schiano? I do remember his hire getting torpedoed because of his alleged ties to the Penn State controversy. That's what caused the backlash.

Yes, the fanbase revolted against the hire of Schiano on the grounds that he was part of the Sandusky scandal.

He coached at Penn State for a few years back in the early 90s while Sandusky was the DC. Now, maybe he knew something, but no one has ever accused him of anything, and he was gone years before the McQueary incident, so it always seemed like a stretch.

The Penn State outrage was just a convenient cover for being pissed their first choice wasn't the tip top name they believed they were entitled to. If he'd had elite head coaching credentials with the same history that fanbase wouldn't have batted an eye.
