E. Kentucky's RPI is awful. This loss is more than 1 game- it's like losing 3 games

this one hurts after a good weekend. nothing like totally shitting ur pants after gaining a little but of respect
Can't ****ing get guys out. Our bullpen has to be better. I agree with leaving the younger guys in to see if they can work out of a jam, like Breaux even though he gave up 3, but Tatum is ****ing horrid right now. He should always have a quick hook. We had 6 run leads twice. This loss is on the pitching.
Boy ... am I glad I was tired and went to bed with us up 5-1 after 4.
This is why I don't get ecstatic and go nuts when we do beat or sweep what everyone seems to believe or wants to believe at the time are good teams. Even if we go in and sweep Vandy this weekend, I won't get too excited. It's a long season and what matters to me is where we end up at the end of it.
Oregon may not be that good ... not sure about that yet. But we sure shouldn't have lost this game.
"Go in and sweep Vandy?" That won't happen. Not against a Tim Corbin team playing on West End in Nashville. Vandy may very well sweep us but I think we find a way to win one. I said several weeks ago on this board that I believe this team will win 13 - 15 conference games and I'm standing by that prediction. I said that because of youth and inexperience in the bullpen and questioned the hitting. So far the hitting has gotten better as the season has progressed. We'll see what happens this weekend on West End against a team ERA of 2.53.
Well I think its pretty obvious that Oregon is a bad team offensively at least for now. They probably made our pitching staff look better than they are although even they took Tatum deep a couple of times and granted they faced the best and most experienced pitchers we have. Right now I believe we have a pretty good offensive team with above average starters and that is about it. Our bullpen is not dependable and our defense is suspect at certain positions. Our baserunning is also a constant cluster.
Sounds like you see it pretty much as I do. Bullpen is killing us right now for sure. Not sure I quite understand that. Saw another post where someone mentioned backing off velocity for control. I thought the other day when Hudson struggled with finding the zone some that he was over throwing, but I'm not a pitching coach.
My philosophy about pitching tho is the same as for real estate ... location, location, location. That and changing speeds effectively.
