I’ve been tortured enough. Turning it off now.
Welp. I guess I can save a little space in my unlimited YouTubeTV cloud DVR.
This was not Howland’s gameplan. It was effort and lack of player leadership. What sucks is our upperclassmen will all be our least talented players on the team. Howland will have some decisions to make next year and you could be seeing Perry take a ton of Holman’s minutes and players like Woodard take Stapleton/Q minutes.
Leave it to state to even ruin the “well at least we made the NIT Final 4” opportunity, by getting ****ing embarrassed by a Big10 4 seed. We should have our heads examined for being invested State fans and putting ourselves through this shit day after day.
And don’t get me started on baseball. Damn disaster, and my stupid ass keeps tuning in to every eye gouging moment of it. Glutton for punishment or I should be put in a padded room, one.
We just look lost. It was almost as if nobody wanted to take that last shot...
Well. Good run bulldogs. Got to remember this sting next year.
I hope that woman's son makes it in the NBA so he can buy here some new britches without big holes in them ....
Finally pressing
Haven't been able to watch this one.
They're shooting nearly 70% from 3 and like 55% from the field. Are they hot or are we not even trying?
Red hot. And we are in their face on at least two of those threes.
Reggie Perry can’t get here soon enough.
And t shirts that do not look shitty.
We are playing really bad, but you gotta hand it to Penn State they shot well and beat us badly
Well in the 1:30 that I've watched we've looked like crap too, but we're also down by 20 halfway through the 4th.
It drives me nuts that the bench warmers acting like clowns after every made shot when you're team is winning is a thing in basketball and gets so much camera time.
I think Howland needs to sign some Euro's in addition to the signees we already have signed and process 3 players.
It’s the NIT. The run we went on up until tonight was good for our team. We didn’t show up tonight but in the grand scheme of things this loss doesn’t mean shit. This doesn’t change the fact that we are bringing in a top 10 class and returning everyone. The future looks bright for our men’s program.
We looked pretty good for the past 6 weeks except against LSU, UT, and now Penn State. Got to hand it to the players, they were playing some good basketball despite what everyone here thought.
Message boards are too high on the good times and too low on the bad times. I have had a good time watching this team this year. Next year starts right now. Every player needs to get better. The new guys need to step in and be ready to dominate. Fans need to get behind this team and program starting 2.5 months ago.
I agree. This was the NIT ffs. This loss was a coachable/teachable moment and should serve as motivation going into the offseason. Next year should have the most expectations we have had since the 2007-2008 year (which was a year after we made the NIT semis btw). Next year should be special and our fans need to get behind this team!
Spot on
Hopefully this was the "deer caught in headlights" moment for this team playing in a pretty big post season game so that we won't have it in the 1st round of the real tourney next year.
That's what I'll tell myself at least.
I think we just ran out of gas... we really have to step it up on the strength and conditioning program. Also, I wonder if Howland built this game up to much and it had an opposite effect.
Can’t wait til the NIT next season! I believe we can win it!
As I said earlier after we lost to Ole Miss- all I wanted to see Howland do was beat Ole Miss and go to the NIT. He did that and got us to the NIT final four. Great job by the team and next year we should be going to the Big Dance.
Hate that the game wasn't more competitive. But a good run after two disappointing losses at the end of the regular season. Next year looks promising.
Last night, the team played the way they did all season except for the last month or so. Glad we showed improvement late and were able to go on the run we did. Hopefully we can build off this loss and carry the momentum of the NIT run through the off season.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Baylor and L'ville games. Need to bottle that team work and effort for next season. If so, they'll be fun to watch.
I even think we looked okay against Penn State. Not great, but if our shots had fallen, starting with the first missed three, it might have been a different game. Not to mention that they were hitting everything to a ridiculous level, like us against Baylor in the first half and against Louisville all night.
Not many teams in the country would have beaten Penn St last night. Hitting 55% from 3 with most of those coming early in the game to build a lead completely changed the game. It happens sometimes and we did the same to Louisville. Penn St made more 3s in the first half than they normally do over the entire game. Combined with us not even hitting 40% overall, it was just a bad night shooting for us and great for them. Sometimes that is just the way the ball bounces. The effort looked ok but I think all the shots they hit early with a hand in the face just took the wind out of our sails.
That 23-0 run was the game and we didn’t react well to their over aggressive defense and turned the ball over way too much to exasperate the situation. They did have an advantage as MSG had an unusual amount of Penn State fans there (considering it’s just right down the road it makes sense). It would not surprise me if they did something similar to Utah on Thursday night. I’m good with the run in the NIT (3-1) and look forward to a bright future ahead.
