English Premier League idea

Alright so for this upcoming season we should be able to watch every match on NBCSports.com which is the equivalent of ESPN3. Every single EPL match should be offered online free of charge (might be tied to your cable/internet bill, not sure). The biggest matches will also be shown live on NBC and NBCSN which both are ava on ComCast for me.

He had a decent start to the year, but ruptured his Achilles and missed a lot of time. He would've been Belgium's starter if healthy. Him staying healthy, and not getting transferred, will be pivotal. If he's hurt again or gone, I expect villa to have a poor year and possible have a relegation fight on their hands

Gotcha. I saw him in some highlights/stories but didn't see him on the Belgium team so I figured either injury or really terrible season overall.

Y'all feel free to ask me about players or teams, I'll try to answer. I'm a huge fan so I follow this a ton. I'll also try to update any big transfer news in the EPL so you guys can get your feet wet in the off field stuff. I'll keep that to the EPL tho. Again, feel free to ask anything I'm happy to help new soccer fans become lifelong ones!

Well I'm not a new soccer fan (maybe professional). I played from the time I could walk through high school. Got snubbed at the college level and kinda just fell off keeping up with any of it. Four years removed from high school, and I think I'm ready to get back into it

If you're able to watch ESPN3 through AppleTV then you should be able to watch nbcsports.com as well I would assume.

DudyDawg and/or others, I just checked out Swansea's roster and recognized absolutely none of them. Can you tell me a little about them?

By the way, after doing a little research I'm leaning towards Arsenal as my rooting interest, and pulling for Everton when they aren't playing Arsenal. And pulling for Real Madrid in the Spanish League. I like that Arsenal is a team that spends money, but they are still not a "guarantee", so you have to hope for some upsets along the way. I like having a team that is capable, but it would still be Huge if they win it all. And for Everton, they are my underdog team to pull for. And then Real Madrid is that team that I can count on to dominate and make sure I have a team still in it at the end, ha. What are your thoughts? Obviously I'm going to watch all of these teams before finalizing my fandom...but that's how I'm leaning.

Arsenal also has Gedion Zelalem, who would instantly become the most promising US soccer player ever if he decides to play for us.

He is a Spanish international and has played a few games with the Spain national team. Jonathan De Guzman is currently playing for the Netherlands national team, as well as, Michel Vorm the goalie. Manchester City (cross-town rivals of Manchester United) are coming off an EPL championship in 2014. For those of you who plan on watching the remaining World Cup games, several of Man City's players are still playing. This includes France's Bacary Sagna in defense, Argentina's Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Dimichelis in defense, Sergio Aguero as a striker (although he got injured and probably won't return this WC), Belgium's Vincent Kompany in defense, and Brazil's midfielder Fernandinho. Some of their other great players made early exits in the World Cup (David Silva for Spain, Yaya Toure for Ivory Coast, Edin Dzeko for Bosnia-Herzogovina, James Milner and Joe Hart for England, etc). It's a good time to get drafted as the Man City representative for Elitedawgs haha.

Yeah sure, cadaver. As far as Real Madrid, awesome. That's my team, so I'll be posting a ton about them. For the past four or five years, Arsenal have been somewhat of a selling team. Van Persie, fabregas, guys like that who they've sold to bigger clubs and in turn bough some good prospects. A lot of their fans were mad that they were selling and not spending, so last season they went out and got some guys (ozil, Giroud) and are starting to spend a bit more. I expect them to try for one big name this offseason, possibly Di Maria or Benzema from Real Madrid, or alexis sanchez from Barcelona. As for Swansea. Michu is their best player, but if I were in Vegas, I would put money on him not being there. As recently as a few days ago I saw him connected to Spanish and French clubs, and they just don't have the money to keep him. Vorm is a very good keeper. I like Swansea to be a mid table team. It would be great for them to challenge for a European qualifying spot, but I see them in the 8-11 range. No relegation battle. The will play a nice mix of possession and quick play. De Guzman and Bony will likely be their two leading scorers this year (assuming Michu leaves), and they'll rely on team defense and some younger guys to play lots of minutes.

I don't usually get to check in on here at nighttime- my 4 y/o monopolizes my evenings like a tyrant. I missed out on the first round of the draft, but you can put me down for 2nd round or an overview/recap of another league.

I would put them in fourth. Like last year, may spend some days in first but drop as time wears on. If they make a big move, maybe they can be an outside contender, but I don't see them as one with the roster as is.

David Villa and Frank Lampard have signed w NYCFC. Kaka also just officially signed with Orlando City this weekend

Also, for anyone interested, there are several transfer news twitter handles. One just rumored that Luis Suarez could be traded to Barcelona for 75 mil. And di Maria might be joining Man U.

The Suarez transfer might be tricky with the current FIFA situation. He'll miss out on the first 7 weeks of BPL so I'm sure his stock has dropped a little bit.
