This might seem but I would put Ace in 3 or 5. He is a power hitter and needs to be where he can knock some peeps in. But of course you need some guys on base to do that.

The team needs to drop to 17. Getting the fear of missing a Host seed might( might) wake them up. Definitely not a Top 8 seed type of team. Too many holes in the word ?Team?.
1-5 in the SEC against teams that are or were ranked at the time we played them. 1-2 against the other 2 Ranked Teams State has played. Arkansas out pitched State. UGA out hit, out pitched, out defended, and out coached State.
We're very capable of winning our next three series. Two at home and then one at South Carolina. Winning 7 of those 9 by themselves would get us into a regional. Especially if we win the Governor's Cup in top of that. Then we would only need to win 2-3 of the last 9 to host. And we'll have McPherson back for most of not all of those if I had to guess.
And yeah- I do think we will play a lot better next weekend. This is just a bump in the road. Every team has it happen even the best LSU teams.

Anything can happen, but picking LSU to come into Starkville and take 2/3 seems needlessly pessimistic.
I think something like this is very plausible:
7-2 over our next 3 weeks
5-4 over the last 3
19-11 overall, and that's not even me being a homer yet.
We probably take Friday with McPherson. It be what it be. Lot of games left!
Also as far as the last three weekends- I expect McPherson back for most of not all of those and I expect Bauer to gradually become a bigger part of the bullpen. That's going to make a HUGE difference from what we are today. Between those two you're probably looking at 7-9 quality innings a weekend alone. Not to mention Pitzer, Gleason and others.
Just saying, 2 weeks ago I would never believe that Chance would have taken a strike 3 right in the middle of the strike zone without swinging like he did in that 9th inning, but he did. And others aren't seeing the ball as well right now either. Agree that the umpiring was crap but I've seen that so much in the SEC that I just expect it at this point. But we have more offensive problems than just that right now.
Agree again. I hope Bauer eventually takes over as closer. I'm certainly willing to be patient with him though. I like Davis as a relief ace better than as a closer honestly too. His last two outings have been better since Ole Miss game one. I know Webb gave up the home run in extra innings but he has been good most of the year as have Pitzer and Gleason. We can win a lot with that group plus Tico, Stone and McPherson.
I don?t think Chance is a ?pressure? hitter. Yes, he has a couple of hits, but the 2 times today he came up in badly needed hits or getting on base today, he couldn?t pull the trigger. Batting 9th has very little pressure normally but look what happened last night when he came up in pressure situations needing RBI?s. He didn?t get it done. He is what he is. He can get on base in front of the top of the order but they have to bring him around. I think Wyers should have started in left and led off today, keeping Beans in the 9 spot. Hindsight and all that crap though. Yes. Reese probably needs to move out of the 2 hole, like someone said, probably 5. Just from the fans observations, the lefty righty thing hasn?t really proved itself through 12 SEC games. Check the BA. UGA didn?t even throw a lefty at us this weekend did they?
Also, UAB is pretty darn good this year. Tuesday is important!
You realize that he led off with a single, stole second with no outs, and our 2,3, & 4 holes k’d twice and ejected from the game, and a pop up. We win 6-5 if we those guys could put it in play. I’m just saying he put us in the best position to win with some “studs” behind him.
the thing that kept pissing me off was hitters swinging at borderline pitches and balls when a pitcher was having trouble throwing strikes. Sully did it on 3-0 after a couple walks and popped it up. Granted, Stallman was coming up and has been an automatic out, so maybe it wasn't a bad idea for Sully to swing 3-0. Stallman chasing that down and in slider for the 100th time on the first pitch after the pitcher had walked a couple and in front of him. There was some shitty baseball played this weekend. SHITTY. If i'm struggling hitting and the pitcher is struggling, you have to take until they throw a strike.
The studs are not hitting in the clutch. That was a big problem this weekend .
I would rather be going through a slump now and not come tourney play.
Chance is probably our best pressure hitter. We don't win the Friday OM game without his 9th inning double and he probably has more 2 out RBIs than pretty much anyone else on the team this year. I was just making the point that even he is having issues right now along with most of our best hitters. We would seem to have too many good hitters in our lineup for them all to stay in a funk for too long. But we certainly need to get rolling again offensively. There are times throughout the SEC season that you do need to be able to put up double digit runs to win and we just aren't able to do that right now.
Stall is struggling. Ace/Sully/34 have not been clutch so far.
We are only as good as our Dudes. When the Dudes play good ball- we are good. They werent good this weekend- swept. Cmon Tennessee
