We beat ourselves today. One full inning of outs trying to steal second, Ben can’t not hit batters, and with no outs and 2 & 3rd…..nothing! Get your shit together and win on Tuesday!!!
What a shitty way to lose.
We gift wrapped them this game by bringing in Billingsley. Oh well! Close!
If you have to bring on Billingsley in situations like this, well you've got issues. Don't pack your bags for Omaha yet Boys.
State wasn?t going undefeated but 5 runs given up in the 9th and 10th is extremely concerning to me going forward.
Why were we jumping out of the way of pitches in the 9th? ucla didnt move.
Parker is a high K guy right now. Should have Ph.
No way you throw to Choc.
Horrible luck and execution.
Good god this team owns us.
The Bruins are to us in baseball as Kentucky is in basketball. We can't seem to beat blue bitches.
Hold on boys!
At least it's not 8-0 this time. *****
Could be much worse. This could have been a super regional game-1.
UCLA is not that good but Billingsley is not a D1 player, just an exhibition game loss.
The coaches blew the 2 run homer to SS in the 9th. Why pitch to the best player in College Baseball?
Also, Davis was gassed after being smashed. They left him out there to finish his collapse and then introduce a guy that can't manage mid-major competition. Now Ben Davis may be f-ed for good, like Lemons ruined Nolan Stevens in Gainsville.
If this is how big games are managed, don't make any Omaha plans.
I don't follow much till we face good competition like today, but holy hell, how do we have a leadoff guy with 4 k?
This is a tuff loss!
Now we're really going to see what we're made of going forward.
We fought hard. We're pretty close to this team overall.
Fu*K that umpire. Ugh that hurts so badly but thankfully it's just a regular season game
We’ll bounce back from this loss. The coaches and the team will learn from this loss, bc they know we beat ourselves. 11-1 with the Mustard Buzzards on Tuesday. I don’t care what you say, we are definitely better then them!!
Bruins are 8-1 against us and think that's five straight
I’m blowing this off. They are a good team but we got screwed by the ump, screwed by a ground rule double( how many times does that happen), and your leadoff guy didn’t take 2 chances at HBP with bases loaded. I’m sure Billingley never sees the field if this one really mattered.
Well, I guess that's why they are #1 and we are #4. We have a little more work to do, but I am very proud of this team. I thought we played very good over the tournament.
That ball going through James legs is not on Billingsly.
I know technically wild pitch, but come on.
F. We won that game. Boys fought 9 on the field and the Ump all game. College baseball, when they are showing the damn pitch on replay as a ball, has a gigantic 17n issue.
This team will be fine. It's March 1, and we lost in extras to the #1 team that has the best player in the sport.
College referees are absolutely the bottom of the barrel when it comes to college officiating. He ****ed us late, but he was all over the GD place all game.
Lessons had better have been learned today. I don’t want to see these mental errors from coaches or players in May and June. And like Scooba said: 17 that ump. I hope somebody shits in his corn flakes tomorrow.
In college baseball particularly, it really holds me back from being fanatic about the sport. I watch like every Braves game there is, and as much crap as I give pro umps, they're in the another galaxy from college guys. Hard to hang on every pitch in a sport where total garbage umps are one of the most critical pieces of contested games
We played pretty well for game 12, made some mistakes and should have beaten one of the best teams in the country. A team that has been playing together for 3 years. They needed extras to get us. Big time learning moments from this one. Move on get ready for the real season in 2 weeks.
Nobody hates losing more than I do. But let's slow down a minute.
We loss on the scoreboard and I knpw that's the only thing that matters. But we just loss in extras to the #1 team with the #1 player and possibly #2 player in their CF who has already hit 10 bombs this year while getting 4 guys thrown out stealing bases, walking 6 guys with I think atleast 4 of those 6 scoring. Leadoff k'd 4 times. Ump was horrible. Brought in our worse pitcher to close it out. And still lost by 1 in extras.
This team is good. Mistakes need to be corrected. But they don't quit and there is alot to be learned from this. We needed this game. We needed to face adversity and probably needed to go ahead and lose. Good wake up call for the team.
I'm happy to be wrong. The kink in College Baseball is the season is actually super short for a sport like baseball.
A funk of 20 games is nothing in MLB, in college baseball, it's half the season.
Today, there was a mad dash through the pitching staff with 1.0 stints through the best arms to culminate in the most key moment with a gassed pitcher and then walkons.
Even jeff said that this umps strike zone was so inconsistent.
I want another shot at these 17s in Omaha. And I will be there again.
