Cupp will be the SS or 2B. He isn't staying to not play. If Mershon stays, he and Cupp will be the MIFs.

The only reason that narrative is being floated is because he won't give insider info to Robbie.
Which is the same reason he wanted Leach gone and flipped out when Hollinghead was hired over Bumphis.
And a big reason why Lemonis probably won't talk to him is because of some of the shit he spewed early in the season.
Cupp will probably play SS. I think Stevens will start in RF for now. We may be hoping that Dante Nori and Henry Allen take CF and 1B respectively but I'm also 100% sure that we're going to to fill those spots in the portal.
The pitching staff as it stands is probably Pico and some combination of Stevens, Loftin, Makhai Grant, Cade O'Leary, Luke Dotson, Karson Ligon, and Ryan McPherson. Not a very experienced group. So obviously we need some arms from the portal. And who knows what we're going to get from Stone Simmons at this point? Or Holcombe for that matter.
PSA
Nolan Stevens , Jackson McKenzie, and Holcombe are all playing for the Newport Gulls this summer.
Stevens has not pitched thus far.

Alabama shedding big recruits to the portal.
SS - Mason Swinney
OF- Parker Picot
Both top National Recruits. Bohannon did get good players on campus. I would be more interested in underdeveloped Bama
Players than LSU cancer kids like Moffet.
The lineup as of today would set the record for fewest HRs in team history. We need some middle of the order guys with pop bad
Trading bombs for singles is not going to work. Tennessee hitting 177 in one season is impressive and seems fishy as hell. But unless they are actually cheating MSU is toast at the moment.
Corbin is the right guy to blow the whistle. He already pulled the Karen moment of the young century with his COVIDian move on NC State.
Com'on Tim, call management
Back to transfer portal talk….these next 14–17 days are put up or shut up time for Lemonis. We need to start getting some commits. It is not sound the alarm time yet, but it is getting really close.
He's making the rounds right now, Going to the highest bidder. His asking price is ridiculous and has risen again this last week. He's off our list.
ETA I've known Moffett since he was a young un. He's a good kid from a good family(I knew his grandmother very well and she was just a wonderful lady), he does have a very high opinion of his skill level though, lol.
I mean if someone is stupid enough to pay it then why not. To me though, it sounds like this kid doesn't think he can cut it in the Majors so he's getting all he can now. Nothing wrong with that btw, just probably not the type of player we need and could count on next year.
Got a commitment

Just picked up a 2 way player from South Carolina Upstate. Noah Sullivan. 1B, DH, P. .324 average with 17 hrs. 8-1 record as a pitcher. Had offers from Clemson, Duke, South Carolina and TCU.
High upside pickup from Lemonis out of the portal.
I think this is another gripe people have. Like this kid wasn't on anyone's radar and he commits out of the blue. Looks like a great pickup tbh. I just think the lack of info gets under people's skin. And honestly, that's baseball recruiting for the most part. Even with the portal, it's not like basketball and football where OV's are announced and reporters have a lot of info.
Just to post his full stats:
.324 BA, .453 OBP, .613 SLG, 17 HRs, 56 RBIs, and BBs more than he K's with 37:31
8-1, 4.88 ERA, 75.2 IPs, 51 Ks, 22 BBs. 1.295 WHIP isn't great, but I'll trust Parker if we decide to go the pitching route with him.
ETA: I think this is a HELL OF A PICKUP by Lemonis.
This is the best of the 3 Imo
He's a good bat.
Not a good pitcher.
Good get overall.
Definitely looks like we're prioritizing hitters with low strikeout numbers. All three that we've gotten so far have a K% under 12%.
