Yes we are. If we can close on a few more DT to eat up run gaps, one more DB starter, and a legit tackle we are in great shape next year to win 6
Edit: I?ll add WR to that list too. If we kept Coleman I?d be pretty happy with that group.

Do we still feel good about Finkley with Steve crystal ball Thomas and Whitson to us?
I?m still watching to see if Denver Harris jumps into the portal. If he does, I think we can get him.
JJ Harrell to Arkansas State. Really bad move by him to leave.
I hope we move to a 3-4 or even a 4-3 if we have quick, fast, and in a hurry edge guys!
Few years away for sure but I think this changes back. You see this in the NFL now there are no more 40 TD 4500 yard passers like there was for a good stretch the past decade. Offensives are adapting back to RBs being important since defenses went small with an extra DB. We will see another Ashton Jeanty season soon
I wouldn't say revamping, I'd call it roster building. Obviously LB is revamped but not a lot of difference makers other than our safety spot. But that roster had to be built up and this is pretty much year one for Lebby. Need to finish strong before I can say we've really revamped but the roster is better.
You act as if we have 0 DT's on the team. Only 4 will play on Saturday, 5 max. If you're not the starter you're a backup. They're not many Chris Jones, Fletcher Cox, and Jeffrey Simmons walking around. We've been blessed to have signed generational talent. However, we're not far off.
Look at the NFL. It?s literally happening now. There was a massive devalue of the RB position and now we are back to the norm. Mahomes isnt throwing for 4000 yards a season anymore. The best QBs are dual threat guys now because defenses have adapted. It isnt just about 2 high, its about the overall speed and smaller players on the field, you exploit that with the power game. Big reason why the Eagles are 12-2 with a QB who can?t really throw
Come again? Joe Burrow literally has 39 TD passes and 4K yards right now. Lamar Jackson the poster boy for mobile QB's has 37 TD passes and 3787.
The biggest thing about running backs is they're going to have to be guys that can run and catch for the most part. Alvin Kamara types that are essentially athletes. Typically RB's that are going to get between 2-6 catches a game.
And it doesn't sound like we're quite done yet either. If we can land Whitson to go along with Bledsoe and Burroughs that is a STRONG DT portal class. We also added Hibbler at DE who had 6.5 sacks in 2023 before redshirting this year and with all of these EDGE guys we're bringing in I feel certain one of them will be a hybrid DE/OLB guy.
There are more teams throwing the ball 60%+ than ever. Almost every team is at 50% and most of the ones under 50% are at 48%. None of that says running back resurgence to me.
Also, those numbers include designed QB runs and scrambles so even the teams at 48% are probably around 50% in terms of play calling.
Yes, QB's are more mobile than ever but they use their legs as an emergency escape option and to extend plays which are of course passing plays.
And as I said running backs are really becoming more utility players than true running backs. Meaning guys that can catch and run the ball. The John Riggins in the NFL are just as extinct as the Dan Marino's.
Also, I don't think the QB's are nearly as good either. Back in the 2000's you had Brady, Favre, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Peyton, Kurt Warner, Brees, etc. Right now it's Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and who else? Dak? You also had guys like Montana, Young, Marino, Elway, Aikman, Kelly, Moon, etc. in the 1980 and 1990's and that group was WAY better than this group of QB's.
Check out 2018 to 2024. You can see YoY passing percentage is slowly trending down. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/sta...ate=2019-02-04
What?s everyone hearing on Fluff? Someone messaged me this morning saying he was OM bound any truth to that?
I mean he was OM bound yesterday due to visiting there. If he goes there he will transfer though. He wants to be an RB1 and their room is too full. He has a better chance here. Either way we are fine. We're either going to take him or the JUCO kid. They're basically the same player.
To answer your question though, we are quietly confident on him.
It's also an example of bad advice. He was told that he could get a bag from OM if he went in the portal and so he jumped in and they didn't want him. He tried to visit multiple times. From what I was told, he realized he screwed up about 3-4 days into this cycle, but it was too late to try and come back at that point. We had moved on. He's not a kid who was going to play next year either. It would have been a minimum of two more years before we could count on him.
