I think the weekend produces 3-5 total in all classes.

If Emery commits to MSU or LSU, what are the odds that the same coach and offensive coordinator are there for his career. Assume Emery plays 3 years of college and turns pro early (and Emery still has one season of high school left).
Will Moorhead be at MSU for 4 years (he is basically the offensive coordinator also)? Will Orgeron be at LSU for 4 more years? Will Ensminger be at LSU for 4 more years?
My money says Emery will have a much better chance of coaching stability at MSU.
Yuck.
Looks like he's just regurgitating what the LSU coaches say
We pay our coaches to counter this
I just find it funny how he shows no interest in LSU the entire recruiting process & now it's about the OL. Surely that is what LSU has been selling the entire time, but for 6 month it didn't mattered yet changes his recruitment during the dead period. Come-on mane
This is why this season is so important to MSU.....maybe THE most important season in recent history. If LSU falls flat this season Yaw Yaw is gone. If we can go 10-2 or better it will legitimize Moorhead and the program. If both of those things happen our recruiting continues to improve and we will continue to win.
The main thing is beat the hell out of LSU this year, so Mr. Emery can see it.
How this season goes will be big bc if there is uncertainty around the coaching situation at LSU then we have a much much better chance.
Emery isn't going to LSU because of Orgeron. He's going there in spite of him. LSU losing O is not going to hurt them in his recruitment.
It may not be all because of O if he ends up there, but I don't think it'll be to spite him either. Regardless of his coaching ability, or lack thereof, O is still one of the best recruiters in all of college football. I think O leaving would have a major effect on whether Emery ends up at LSU.
I didn't at all say that it's an indictment on his recruiting ABILITY
It's just an understanding of the local MS, AL, LA recruiting landscape that can really only come through seeing it in person. I'm not at all saying that there is a difference in relating to kids, selling your program, etc.
There is a difference IMO & it's not really fair to Moorhead to expect him to know EVERYTHING about recruiting this region before taking the job.
I feel like all big programs do this to an extent though. Obviously it's probably a little more prevalent in the South with the sheer amount of "rogue boosters" floating around. But if Moorhead didn't know at least he's well prepared for some of the things he'll encounter later on in the cycle. Especially from our neighbors to the North
Whew, that took some digging. I didn't realize it had been so long. Didn't mean to sound accusative if it came off that way. I recently joined but have been lurking for about 3 or 4 years. I really enjoy coupling yours and IYOK's input on recruiting with the 247 guys. Just gives more perspectives.
Fact is Idlive to have emery but this is going to be a very very good class with or without him. I think there is still another surprise or two out there
We must get Emery for this class to be SEC C'Ship quality, IMO. If I was a betting man I would put actual $ on Emery picking State.
Let's just say Emery does commit to LSU and it becomes evident that we aren't getting him.
I know we'll target Gray and a few others maybe, but could we possibly try to flip Ealy from OM? I know he's probably going MLB but it wouldn't hurt to give ourselves a chance with him.
Ealy, Gray, & Thompkins are all still on the board.
Wouldn’t be shocking at all if Ealy is a part of this class , but I don’t see anyway he is playing football next fall
Worse case if we don’t land Emery or Make a push for Gray, if there is a juco that is talented enough to get meaningful snaps next year I could see us going that route and then going high school route in 2020 which will be Chris Tyree . But he won’t be easy pull .. big time talent but we have a great shot
We havent had an issue with RB in the past few years of recruiting with Knox so I see no reason that won’t improve with Huff. We might miss out on A few more but we will be going after big time Backs
UGA currently has four 5-stars. Oklahoma and LSU each have two 5-stars. Nobody else has more than one 5-star. With the way they are recruiting now and over the last 2-3 years, they are going to be a force to be reckoned with (actually they already are). Mullen is going to find himself competing with a lot of the teams in the East for second place. Georgia is building a big, fast, physical, deep team. Like Clemson and Bama over the last few years.
It's the brand, momentum, # of D1 schools in GA and most importantly the location itself. You are 40 minutes from Atlanta and a couple hours from either the beach or the mountains. Starkville is a couple hours from Memphis or Jackson and MS has less population than metro Atlanta. We need ONE P5 school, period.
"Mullen Straining in FL..." RULES. Throw in the Peepin' Croom and it's Norman Rockwell Worthy.
We have been a lot of things away from getting to the sec championship, but we?ve never been a running back away. Emery is a great player but he will not be the difference in us making it to ATL or not. Please don?t take that as ?we didn?t want him anyway.? He?s someone we want now and will continue to want up until signing day. If we miss on him it?s not going to be as big a deal as some people seem to think.
