Small is tipping his pitches out of the stretch. Combine that with ass clown tightening up to lead off the inning and here we are
2-1 pitch was a 17n strike.
When Small is able to pitch out of the windup he is great because of how he changes up his leg kick and timing. When he has to pitch from the stretch he is very hittable because hitters can time it. Out of the stretch he needs to throw more off speed.

Small's problem was not the stretch affecting his timing, or with tipping pitches. Small's problem was the velo going from 91 to 88 and the location missing, often with bp results
