Someone should tell Henderson if the ump gives you almost a full plate outside pitch outside. He was intentionally having our pitchers pitch inside as I watched our catcher crouch inside. Between the positioning and the pitch calling, Henderson about gave Alabama this game.
Amazing we were able to score 14 runs on a night where Mangum was 0-5.
Small wins tomorrow 3-0
Henderson seems overwhelmed in the post game interviews, like he watched a different game. To his credit, he sometimes asks Jim Ellis to remind him of the key play.
He needs to drink some of that ginseng B12 energy coffee. Or take some Vyvanse or Adderol pills. The coffee is probably cheaper.
Cole is as reliable as JB, James, and almost France. Cole just needs clean starts so his 55 foot pitches don't move runners around.
All these guys can totally crap the bed on any given outing. At Mizzou, Cole gave us 6 big innings and it was leibelt and France that collapsed
There was an error but the bases were loaded at Mizzou
Stats don't bear that out...
Cole...
5.34 era 1.53 whip 9.79 k9 5.93 bb9
JB...
4.62 era 1.51 whip 8.51 k9 4.93 bb9
James...
3.00 era 1.44 whip 9.00 k9 3.25 bb9
France...
3.21 era 1.36 whip 10.96 k9 3.74 bb9
France and James have been considerably better. Cole and JB's walk rate makes them borderline unusable... unfortunately, we have no choice but to use them
And Bama isn't like the 61 Yankees, our pitching should be ok as well as our hitters! It's a must to win one more game but like Todd stated we almost need to sweep, get it done today and we all will fill better.
Wait, you go to stats to prove your point on Cole but not for Luke. Selective stat usage . Cole, is an easy read, when you bring Him in and the first few hitters light Him up, take Him out. but if He come in and gets on a role, He can be tough. We have no reliver that is that much better than Cole. I like Neff because he throws strikes.
Luke is not a good hitter. His stats bear that our too. He is a glove first player with some pop, but a very poor hit tool. He isn't a liability if used correctly though... I think Henderson bats him way too high in the lineup. Let em hit 7th and swing for the fences

Here's a great site for baseball stats.
It's all subjective BTW. Everyone of their WHIPs is higher than you wold like, so not like any are slam dunks.
