They are hearing the same things I have heard for about the last 3-4 days. Florida boosters are growing more confident by the day that they have this thing done. The tide started to change in Oxford Sunday morning.

Interesting thread on 6pack.
Seems like Florida players have been told today that Kiffin is going to be their new coach.
If Lane is staying he better get in front of this Saturday bc there are a bunch of OM folks on X calling him out. The natives are getting restless.
There was a call with Jimmy Sexton with some demands Lane had and Hugh Hathcock and the Florida brass met all of them. Salary is north of 15 per from what I was told and that has been basically verified by some OM people. I have said all week, and continue to kind of hear it, it is going to be REALLY TESTY Saturday in Oxford. It is not going to be a comfortable atmosphere. I actually think Kiffin will bury Florida Saturday night. I actually think that benefits him more.
The press conference Saturday night is going to tell a lot. There will be Florida beat writers in there that will make those Jon Sokoloff questions 3 years ago seem like softballs.
Now could all this be posturing on the part of Kiffin? Absolutely. He could be the Are You Ready chant Saturday night while signing his contract with Carter. At this point, I do not believe that will happen. I think the Florida thing is VERY REAL. Their brass is extremely confident.
I never thought I'd see it, but there's some real confidence from their side right now. And with the bye week upcoming.....I mean.
I will say the chances of that happening are like 1% but in the words of Matt Moscona, "Coaching searches are crazy. Live by one rule: "Believe nothing but consider everything."
I will say that IF he takes the job, I do not believe he coaches a playoff game at OM.
If Lane is taking the Florida job he isn?t waiting until after the playoffs (and I am sure Florida isn?t going to wait until January to name him head coach). If he becomes the next head coach his primary and sole concern is the Florida football program not OM. At that point OM has to fend for themselves with Golding as interim.
Either he stays and it is one of the greatest troll/pay shakedown/ art ever seen. If he leaves......he really screws the om power structure.....I personally think he stays....milks om law school for everything they need to file another class action lawsuit over, and gets within one or wins the NC. I truly hope I am an idiot and horribly wrong.......but I have a very bad feeling .....Coach Lebby....GO DOGS.....IN CLOSING THERE IS NO WAY he quits before the playoffs.......makes absolutely NO SENSE...
A funny comment on ole miss board- a poster says if Lane leaves they might have more NIL booster money because several stopped because they don't like Lane. They are already spinning it.
I hope he goes to FL, and then trolls ole miss on twitter and see if they think it is still cute and funny.
Has anything thought about their replacement. The way few times Kidfen was “leaving” it was they were hiring Lebby cause they are practically the same and Lebby made Corral and half of Dart… Now it’s the other way around…
Since Kiffin is all about splash, has a coach ever switched teams at halftime? LOL
The transfer portal is going to be gutted.
I’m betting that they will promote Golding
I don't know. Who is the sleaziest coach that they could hire? Durkin? He does have ties to Ole Miss and Kiffin and is looking for a head coaching job.
I figure Sumrall will take the Auburn job if I had to guess. They're probably not going to hire Judge because he graduated from MSU. And I would be surprised if they just promote Golding. That's too similar to what we did with Arnett. That will probably scare them out of doing that. I could see them maybe promoting Charlie Weis, Jr.
I will say this- it's going to be really hard for them to replace Kiffin. Impossible actually. If he leaves.
And you know what they say about how in coaching you don't want to be the guy after "the guy". That along with the coaching job market this offseason could make it difficult to hire someone.
Yeah. His daughter at Ole Miss has to be at least a junior at least and I think she is actually older than that. Plus she is dating a LB from LSU so the dynamic is very different for her compared to 2022.
And as far as his son, he could potentially play at IMG and Lane could watch him play pretty easily.
I'm hearing Judge might be interim if Lane bolts. Gotta see if he signs the documents Carter has for him to be the highest paid HC in the country and stay in oxford a few more years.
This one truly feels 50/50
It is all 100% on Lane. big decision for the boy for sure. he will be told to sign or go onto florida and then he would not be in starkville the day after thanksgiving.
I can see Lane leaving for Florida. I would be SHOCKED if he leaves OM high and dry in the playoffs. Don?t see that happening at all. Only way he bolts to FL early is if they miss the playoffs
Carter will do his best to have Lane sign and make it public sometime next week. They are tiring of his ploy currently up there.
Because she's an acct professor at OM, got her law degree from OM, her family lives in Cleveland, and this is the closest they have been to them since Pete was at Delta St.
She's made it very clear, he can go wherever he wants but she is staying in Oxford. And if he wants to stay married, he will stay in Oxford.
I dont see any way they would put Lame on the road to Gainesville before the EB or even before the playoff. It's a very special season for them at this point and you dont just throw it away because your HC may leave. If Fla really wants him and truly believes he is the guy? They will wait for him. Just as Mullen did with Fla when he took our job- there are things he can be doing to get things going at Fla while he is still coaching Mississippi and getting them ready for playoff match-ups. Right now you are just hearing a bunch of what-ifs and butthurt comments from people
