So you're saying we bought a Lemon(is). We are Miss Stake...
Lemon fans worry not, I don't MSU will do anything about the baseball situation.
I think it's far more likely the present MSU athletic administrators just destroy baseball and fire us fans. At 15% shrinkage per year, in 3 more years, they won't have too many people to give a damn. They'll just have the effeminate and compliant "we believe" crowd.
Biggest thing is people that think we are about to pony up for a big name -.... we won't..... and to be fair couldn't get one if we would
Nah. They'll go with Coggin. It makes more sense.
I think I would like him better between the two even without the MSU background. Coggin has full control of Georgia's offense under Wes who is a pitching guy. In the meantime Elander is a hitting guy working under a hitting guy. The MSU background makes it a slam dunk.
No way to know if he would have won the NC but its obvious things would have been much better long term if Schlossnagel had actually taken our job. Heck, likely even better if Henderson had been given the job. Its amazing how poorly all the coaching choices Cohen made as MSU's AD eventually turned out. Cann (scandal), NMP (bad coach and died), Moorhead (bad coach fired), Leach (good coach but poor recruiter and died), and of course whiffed on Schloss to get us Lemon. And of course lost both Mullen and Schaefer. But did a great job getting us going on NIL.... oh wait. I actually think Cohen was worse that Templeton ever was as an AD.
why do you say that? Please give some info if you actually have facts.
Cohen did make the right decision at the time hiring Leach and he did make a good hire with Jans. He made a better hire his 2nd time around with women?s basketball, but none of that equates to the awful hire he made with Moorhead. Also his lack of interest in NIL and letting all the other schools pool ahead of us was just horrible management. I am glad he is not our problem anymore but there are still a lot of impacts to this day on his hiring decisions. He was definitely not a good AD
Saw my first game at MSU, 1963, age eight. Look at our history of hiring "on the job training" AD's and Football HC's ( Former Assistants). It is terrible in football except for Tyler, Bellard at first, and Mullen. AD is Byrne and that's about it. TBD on Lebby and Selmon. We go cheap my entire life and pay for it on the field and many athletic programs on and off the field. Our so-called "leaders", definately don't revisit the mistakes of the past.
I am asking what your beef is with coggin. many folks know his whole family in booneville and wonder wtf you mean. say what you know if you actually have facts. do you understand what i just typed?
I didn't know you were an english major.
Again. Who are you responding to?
I was asking a question because your no one knows who you are talking to when you just randomly ask a question and don?t clarify who you are directing at. There are several posters in threads. Everyone else quotes the person they are asking a question to except you. I wasn?t being a dick. Just asking to help you get answers to some of your questions.
If your reply was to me maybe you need to learn to read because I?m not the one who said anything negative about Coggin.
So yes I understand what you typed but your in here just asking questions aimlessly.
And what would an English major have to do with anything? No one said anything about grammar or what you typed lolz.
well my bad then. you should try being less sensitive. english major would be all about using proper quotes and yes, i get what you mean. maybe i failed to quote who i was responding to. sorry for that. for a second there i thought you were the guy in section 103 row M seat 10. no way you are like him. i can read fine there too sir(used loosely) but in a good way. maybe all are just stressed from watching the baseball team. merry xmas if i don't see you til then
Lol. No worries man. I?m certainly no English major myself and wasn?t offended by anything you said to begin with.
Like I said. Wasn?t trying to call you out or anything. Just see your posts sometimes and can?t tell who it?s directed at and I?d like to know the answer to some of your questions too. Might illicit more responses if they know who you?re asking.
Yes. Tanner?s viewpoint on this is just flat out wrong. If anyone played competitive baseball, probably knows enough about the inner workings of baseball to not only understand exactly what is happening in the game, but can accurately predict the coach?s decisions. No offense to him, but baseball isn?t high level calculus. It?s baseball.
All it really takes is watching the team for about a solid month. If any of us got to participate in practices, we would be able to accurately call pretty much every single pitch. I know I could, given a single month with the pitching staff. Ethan Small?s last year, I could accurately call Ethan?s pitch and location at about 80%+ accuracy. Am I a baseball genius? Nope, just grew up pitching. Again, not rocket science.
good post lord mcbuckethead. all on point and i strongly suspect if we conducted practices that we'd have different position players and would use the pitchers in a different order than what we see this year for sure.
