Don't get me wrong, I'm keeping my expectations tempered, but this time is different. This isn't the usual isolated instance of improper benefits. They've run themselves into a perfect storm with multiple players and areas of violation. Combine that with the NCAA's current need to show it still has teeth, and there's a much better chance than usual they get burned.
I wouldn't be holding my breath on transfers. Those incidents are few and far between. Only in extreme scandals or repeat offenders who are receiving severely escalating penalties have they allowed players to transfer because of sanctions. IF it happens with UNM, then that's the least of their worries. But it's way down the list of what might be a final outcome that follows sanctions.
So will big brother Patterson let little brother go to the bears , if this is all true?
Could be that it's an endless rabbit hole & they had finally found enough to declare LOIC. If the NCAA has found enough to declare LOIC, then it make sense to go ahead & place sanctions or else you risk investigating for 10 years & penalizing people that weren't involved.

If all member institutions receive notice, mother surely they are using this against Ole Miss in recruiting.
Why wouldn't one of these institutions let the information slip into the public arena?
Absolutely no way they are telling elder Patterson anything other than pumping sunshine up his southern orifice. You can guarantee he is on a strictly need to know basis. Last thing they would do is say anything to him that would jeopardize their star QB of the future changing his mind.
What I would like to know is what would they tell recruits on their big OV weekend if they point blank ask them what's up.
