I'd leave 0 open if we can get all 26 signed that we want in 2 weeks.

Class of 2022 JD Stewart > John Lewis ..
And it?s not even close..
He?s a good player and I?d like to sign him. Seems to have the measurables you want in the SEC. But yeah he may be a little overvalued. 247 has him rated higher than Calloway and Daniels as the number 2 player in MS, but I?d definitely have him behind those two.
And yeah, doubtful that he?s any better than JD Stewart in the next class. But Stewart probably won?t have the hype because he?s probably going to commit to us early.
You never want to count your chickens before they hatch, but with Blanton & Stewart next year likely signing to be Bulldogs & Strong having 3 years to play, I question how important LB is in this class.
I'll take him for sure, but there are other positions I'd prioritize
Pounders is gone.
Pounders decommits.
Austin Barber and/or Cannon Boone are must gets now. If we miss on them, then we'll likely be forced to reach on a guy like Nasson Simmons who isn't an SEC player.
Not ideal for this staff right now. Ole Miss has all the momentum right now. No other way to spin it.
We could have a top 10 class two weeks before signing day and still struggle to finish in the top 30. Somehow we get absolutely worked in the two weeks prior to signing day every single year.
It?s really remarkable.
Look for MJ Daniels to decommit in the next day or so as well
We have to be the most abused SEC program the last 2 weeks of every recruiting season.
I love a Paul and Steve but they’ve been getting worked over this year as well. I won’t lose sleep over Poinders that much but losing Daniels would be a potential blow
Like two ships passing in the night . . . . . . . . .
If we lose Daniels, then this staff will have shown me they don't have what it takes to recruit in the SEC. You can get all of these commits in the dog days of summer, but if you can't close on them in December then you're never going to make it.
The modified dead period is the best thing that could have happened to Ole Miss. This is when they do their best recruiting.
Leach...taking us to the next level!!!!!!**********************************

4* LB John Lewis commits! He was thought to be an Ole Miss lean for a few weeks. BIG get by this staff.
He'll be a helluva edge rusher for us. Tyrus Wheat, Jordan Davis, Demonte Russell, John Lewis
John Lewis has committed. Even though some think he isn’t as good as others it’s still a big pickup.

He's a good get for us. His recruitment really blew up late. I think he's probably one of those guys that would've blown up on the summer camp circuit and ended up with double digit offers. We benefit greatly from that in this case. A heck of a job by Rod Gibson and Matt Brock to outrecruit Deke Adams and Chris Marve for him.
What a statement to get him, especially with the perceived momentum from OM. GREAT JOB staff!!!
Daniels still decommitting? Haha some of you guys just need to shut up.
Also, hopefully this helps us with Branson Robinson for next year. Stud running back.
Sorry I haven't been keeping up with this thread as much as I'd like to but what's the deal with Deion Smith? Is there any chance for us especially with LSU seemingly falling apart at the seams?
We'll only have room for one out of Harmon and Price if we keep who we've got. And it's likely going to be Harmon. I owe whoever said that we were still on him an apology. He was right, and I couldn't be happier because Antonio is a good kid and I think will prove some people wrong.
So where do we go from here? We've got 18 committed with 1 transfer so that's 19 spots. We're signing 26, so that leaves 7.
We'll take 2 DEs- if we get (1) Ty Cooper and (2) Deonte Anderson, then I'll be ecstatic.
(3) Antonio Harmon at WR is looking likely now, so there's another 4 star.
(4) Jarquez Hunter at RB seems to be where we're headed, even though he's signing in Feb.
(5) Calvin Johnson from French Camp and (6) Jadarrius Perkins are two DBs we have good shots with. Don't count Justin Walley out either.
And the 7th spot will go to an OL. I'm not sure who that OL will be though. Austin Barber got a Miami offer so he gone. Maybe Canon Boone? If we can't find a solid player in the early signing period, I'd like to see us pocket that last scholly and wait until February. New names will pop up, or maybe a transfer will emerge.
If we land a combination of those 7 guys, then I'll be very pleased. That'll be the highest recruiting class Mike Leach has ever signed. In year 1...
Yep. I think Spivey playing well recently has shown the staff that they can utilize players like Harmon. With him being an hour down the road, it just makes sense. And there's a myth out there that Antonio is slow. He's not slow. He's just not shifty. With good coaching, I think he'll be a beast
Justin Walley just posted that his recruitment is 100% closed and he will sign with Minnesota.
