They have 4 guys on him. And we do have two 2pt shots. Tolu getting blocked into the stands and Jeffries finding the rim right there.

I'm a "never tell your guys to stop shooting" believer. It's hard to watch. We're terrible from behind the arc.

That said, this is the most well coached team I've seen at State since the best years of Richard Williams (credit to his assistants as much as him). But we play defense. For real. We're smart. We press when we can set it up and eat up the shot clock, we take open shots, everybody on the floor can handle the ball, we don't take unnecessary risk on defense even though we pressure the ball a lot, we don't allow a lot of transition points, etc... this team is going to win a lot of games.

Not sure how this one will fall, but it's going to be a good season. Y'all get those NIL checkbooks ready and go get Jans a few dudes!

Another great sign of a good team... we out shot them 25 to 12 in the first 10 minutes or so of the game. If you take that many more shots than your opponent (defense, rebounding, etc...) you're going to be in a lot of games.

I feel like we are much better 3 point team that what we are seeing now. A lot of these shots are in and out or barely missing. They will start falling at some point. We can't win big down the stretch if we don't learn how to make them fall anyway.

A "miracle" is super harsh. We already have solid non conference wins. That's what gets you in come March when you're on the bubble. Something we only did one season under Howland.

It's hard to shoot in a big, empty gym. And I'm not sure it can get much worse!

It's crazy we shot that poorly and beat a potential tourney team.

Big time play. Davis and Tolu players of the game. Jeffries played a solid game. His two drives to the paint made a difference in this game. Neither resulted in points, but it got us to the bonus faster and it shows me we can do it if we focus on it, and we will need to get tough on offense from here on out.

Defensively, Mathews is a difference maker yet again.

Good win. We need to work and getting these open looks in the net. I think we will figure it out.

6-0 feels good. Let?s grab this hardware and get set for a fun season.
