Simmons may be earning that closer role
If only they had gone to Simmons instead of tullar earlier.
Damn it. I thought LT had tied it up. This team aint got it right now.
Tanner has not hit a lick at a snake so far this year
Skinny lemonis sucks. We need fat lemonis back.
This team just embarrassed our program.
That right there is a very, very bad loss.
Awful awful awful soul searching loss
This is the type of loss that keeps you from hosting. Still can, but we just erased our margin for error. What a terrible loss.
Lol......4 freaking hits........Sims 0-2......
17-31 a year ago
I'm not worried at all.
I also did not know that Northern Kentucky was an actual school.
That was not fun to watch and made it easy on me to decide to stay home tomorrow instead of riding up to sit in the cold.
I have said it for years and I will say it again. Bases loaded situation is the kiss of death for us in any type situation. We will either score 1 or none. That last time they should have continue running the guy past 3rd. Knew we wouldn?t blow it open after that. It is just a curse for us
I?ll be there tomorrow with my gloves and gaiter. But I?m old; life experiences have taught me how to hold my water when things are a little tough. Its only Game 5 folks.
Yep it's only game 5. And we've lost 3 of them.
Still time to turn it around but what I see is a team without leadership. Someone has got to step up. TA and Rowdy aren't coming back. LoTan, Hancock, and James need to wake up and start lighting fire under asses.
I'll be the one to say it and take my lumps from sunshine pumpers. After winning a Natty, following that with a start like this (thru 5 games...we'll get better) is soooooooo Mississippi State.
For those that couldn't watch or were unable to follow, don't be fooled by the scoreboard. It wasn't that close. Heretofore winless NKU just absolutely THUMPED the defending national champions.
We need to see wholesale changes tomorrow. Bench Cumbest, Clark, Yeager, and maybe even Tanner. If you can?t hit you can?t play anymore. Time to try some new guys out. I guarantee there are some hungry freshman who would have loved to have a crack at a guy who had a 136 ERA coming in!!! Not a 1.36 or 13.6 a 136. Utterly embarrassing
They need Leach to come give them the talk.
Hell all year has been pathetic. Even against Arkansas Pine Bliff half the hits were infield singles, and 2 of those should have been errors they gave hits.
We are in trouble this year. Plain and simple. Any pitcher that can throw a change up, curveball, or hell even a fastball will give us trouble.
I think Northern Kentucky used to be D II with Delta State. So there is our 1984 Mississippi College loss.
But truthfully, 11.7 scholarships make a lot of Big schools vulnerable to the low end loss, especially if Dugout Leadership is missing.
There is no excuse for losing to NKU on a Friday. Sorry. There just isnt
Too much angst on here way too early in the season. Buck up folks; we?ll get it figured out.
We are the National Champion ALL SEASON. Time for us to act like it. We?re no longer the Mississippi State fans of yesterday yearning for that first crown. We OWN THE CROWN!
OK I?ll play with IF THEN hypotheticals. IF we figure it out, and certainly there are plenty of games left to do so, THEN we will be right back in a super regional playing for Omaha. Projecting an entire season lost from a five game sample size is not worthy of our standing as National Champion.
My ASS Hurts. So does my Heart. I've always thought if STATE Players knew how much I wanted them to win they'd play a little harder. LOL.
Who I really feel sorry for*** is the Fair Weather fans that just started liking baseball last year. They bought the stock, top of the market. Sorry fellas.
For existing long term fans, you knew this years team was a wildcard. TA is a Greatest Of All Time in any sport for MSU. You don't replace that overnight or super easy. Losing to a DII team happens when you get a weak batch. The team will get better, but I don't think this team has bottomed. If Stinnett and Tullar really are the best relief we got on Friday, woof!
But it's not just the relief pitching. Polk says the NKU pitchers were lobbing low 80s MPH fastballs with curve ball with very little snap. The NKU pitchers did their best to give MSU two 10 run innings. It was the top of the order that went 0-11 tonight. It will get better.
Did we just get hot at the right time last year to win a natty? I just don?t feel like we are a top 5 program based on talent yet.
Well, we have 2 projected 1st round picks right now. It's early and it's been cold. No way to judge anything yet.
