8 walks. Price pitched 11 balls and 5 strikes. Two pitchers came in on 2-0 counts.

Surprise me dawgs... get a rally going
Congrats to Mingione. He will leave here with a series win, if not a sweep.
SBW curse
I hate we pitched price, he was completely gassed Wednesday. WE can't afford to have him give down.
We do some things really well. But then we are AWFUL at other things. There isn't an in between for our players.
We walk too many people, we strike out too much, and then we have to be leading the country in guys picked off of first base and strikeout/wild pitches.
Rooker is probably the best hitter in college baseball right now but with the rest of what's around him if we make a regional and it ends there its been a successful year given the shape this team is in. We don't have enough arms an we only have about 3 or 4 real hitters in the lineup. Tough to do anymore than just make postseason with that recipe. We did a lot of little things right last weekend to sweep OM but tonight the little things were not done well and we lose. Our margin for error to win against quality SEC opponents is razor thin.

Pretty sure Tuesday was a sign that I failed to see. We have been playing above our heads and regression in progress.
We need a win tomorrow really bad
Too many. I would be all for a change there but the fact of the matter is there really aren't very many options. It has been a problem all year. I can't get too pissed about it because like I said there aren't very many options and there are none that have proven to be better. I don't want Stovall back there with his hamstring issues. Honestly as long as they're putting out a satisfactory effort and if they have a winning season and go to a regional- which I still think we will probably- I'm fine with that from this team.
Or maybe that's what they get for going all in on our two game series. I've heard conflicting information about that. Still you can't compare baseball scores or scores for any sport. USM beat us and then lost to Ole Miss the other night. Of course we swept Ole Miss.
Actually, it wouldn't kill us. It would hurt- I'm not going to pull a Bjork and say it's a good thing. But if we get swept we're still 6-6 and then we still have Alabama and Georgia on the horizon and only four OOC games left including one with Valley next week. Their RPI is higher than ours so it shouldn't hurt us too much from that standpoint. It would be about like getting swept by Texas A&M last year.
Our sweep of ole miss was fools gold. We have too many automatic outs and one legit starter. If we make a regional cann should be coach of the year with the circumstances he's faced.
Well, that was a shitty way to lose a baseball game. 3 hit the #10 team in the country but give up 8 walks and I lost count of the passed balls/wild pitches. Our pitching these next 2 games will be interesting to say the least
Meh. That's just how baseball is. No one is going to be firing on full cylinders for 14 weeks in a row plus the postseason. Heck, we allowed three hits tonight and basically gave the game to them. That's a lot easier to fix than not having the talent to win. I don't expect to score a ton of runs off of anyone's Friday night guy. If they're tired- that's not going to affect their psyche and we basically get next week off with Valley coming in. Then we get past South Carolina and then hopefully finish the season strong. Even at the college level they aren't going to get too high or too low over a win or a loss.
I know Pilk had thrown 111 pitches but when he got pulled he had only given up 1 hit for the entire game and had a man on first with 2 outs. Wish we had at least tried to see if he could have finished off the inning before pulling him. He still seemed to have good stuff. As you said, as much as Price threw Wednesday it was asking a lot of him to come back in again last night.
Agreed but our entire staff seems to have that problem. Riley Self came in after Pilk and immediately walked the next hitter to put the lead runner into scoring position before giving up a single to tie the game. Just seems if Pilk could have finished off that inning and at least started the next we wouldn't have had to use so many pitchers last night. Now we've already pitched Self, Barlow and Price again. Self and Price were both ineffective and you wonder how fresh either of them actually were last night.
