When is the last time Spruill has done something productive at the plate? It seems like every time I see him at the plate he has a piss poor AB.

Lovelady's receiving leaves alot to be desired... We've overrated him defensively at times due to his handling of the running game IMO...

Until this pitching staff gets better an limiting walks, HBP's and wild pitches, we will be struggling to win every game.

You can tell the lack of confidence in our pen. Tatum should have been put an inning ago.

What's this dude talking about "four seam throws from a catcher"? Never heard of such or known anyone that could do that consistently. You roll with whatever grip you come out of your glove with. If your front side isn't flying open on release, you aren't getting enough damn run on that ball to matter. Even a foot or two is nothing...

We are going to Russ McNickle ourselves if we aren't careful running the SPs as deep as we have been....

**** yeah!! Now that's showing some nuts Vance! Great job of bowing your neck and grinding that inning out with no runs. That was a huge inning. Now we can run somebody out with a clean inning. I might even let Fitts pitch if he will agree to throw a fastball more than once every 10 pitches.

You are taught to do a quarter turn to get a four seam grip on a baseball. No matter how you pull it out, its always a quarter turn to get four seam. Sometimes you don't have time to do that and you have to just let it go.

Why aren't we piggybacking now? Seems like the logical approach to dealing with this and not throwing our SPs arms off...

Just don't trust the pen guys to give us 3 innings at the start of games? We know Fitts can do this...

I think we are riding Tatum as long as we can to save our bullpen for Tuesday night vs USM in Pearl. Laster is supposed to get the start. We are up 6 and hopefully won't need to use many arms today.

They are big strong kids with great mechanics. They will be ok.

We haven't gone to our pen because we have zero confidence in it and rightfully so. Tatum has done what a starter sometimes has to do. Grind thru a tough start and stay in the game. If his pitch count is under 110 I run him back out there. If leftys are due up.

I was taught at a pretty high level -- with enough arm strength to have balls sail on me early in the move to C -- but I never was taught to worry about or even notice grip out of the glove on attempted steals. On bunt plays or other situations where you have a little time, sure...

1 thru 6 and 8,9 anyway. We can interchange 7 with Holland and Spruill in a platoon.
