I?ve kind of just accepted that we will check the box that we made the tournament again. It definitely is better than we are used to but we just spiral at the end of the year and that is concerning. The Texas loss was just horrible at home and that should not have happened.
I've come to despise basketball. Refs give them 2 free throws for the win on a non-foul foul and then we have a point blank shot for the win at the buzzer and miss. Just another massive gut punch to follow up the Texas game.
Meh. They are entertainment. At some point all the losses and letdowns in every program becomes not entertaining. Mismanagement, lack luster recruiting, etc. meh.Quote:

Whatever, we also won some close games. Bottom line is we finished 6-10 in our last 16 games and only 2-10 against anyone not named OM or SC. Just a very disappointing season given what this team could have done.Quote:

Is it extreme? We will probably be a 10 - 12 seed meaning we will play against 5-7 seed. On a neutral floor. We will get stomped per usual. If Lunardi’s predictions are close we will be in Indianapolis probably playing Clemson, Marquette or UCLA. We will get beat handily.Quote:

We are 6-10 in our last 16 SEC games. But yea, it's technically 3-10 against anyone other than OM or SC because one of our wins against SC was in our first two conference game of the year. And yes, there are other wins we could have had but other losses as well. We won @ GA by 1, @ SC in OT,, OM at home in OT.. We had actually been good in the really tight ones in conference until the last two. But we don't really make any big shots or FTs at the end of games to win. The close ones we've won we had a lead and were trying to hold on at the end.Quote:

No idea why we stink so bad at defending 3s, but I'm gonna chalk it up to bad season. Last year, we were #1 defending the 3 in the sec, and we were 6th two seasons ago. For whatever reason, we are horrible at this season, but I will say it has to some luck for our opponents. I've said it over and over, but I will again... I watch 80% of grizzlies games, and nba teams don't hit open 3s anywhere close to the level they hit vs us.Quote:

Our last three losses of our four game losing streak have been to OK, TX and AR who were at the time very low in the SEC standings and we were favored in all three I think. I sit on row four with a friend looking at the goal at home games. Hubbard can't help being about 5'!0" but he is usually a real mismatch on "D" which contributes to us giving up about 90 or so per game recently. Someone posted his shooting % in the last 8 or so games and it hasn't been good in the majority. I feel the lack of a point guard and him having to play it is also bad. But here's the facts, from 2008-2019 we made the tournament twice. And would've only made it once had it not been for a miracle run through the SEC tournament. We lost both times in the first round. We haven't won a game in the tournament since Charles Rhodes erupted on Oregon in March of 08. We are about to make our 3rd straight tournament, something we haven't done since we made 4 straight from 01-02 to 04-05. It's ok to be ticked off with how we ended the season. It's ok to want more. You should as a fan base. But it also needs to be said that we're a hell of a lot better and more consistent than we've been in a very long time.Quote:
