What?s up with Auburn?s chunky first baseman ? (I haven?t paid attention this year) Wouldn?t he be more athletic if he lost some weight?
EDIT: Auburn?s starter couldn?t get out of the first inning.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a starting pitcher throw 47 pitches in the 1st inning. Brutal to say the least.
Btw, team who wins first game in Super Regionals is 80% to take series.
Wow! UCONN. Unbelievable. 9-0 over Stanford in the 2nd.
Auburn nor Oregon State?s pitchers are doing well. 6-4 Auburn in the 3rd.
He hit .293/21 HR in 2019 and .273/18 HR in 2021 at Samford.
It's not missing context at all. I mean, obviously there was no way anyone would know he would hit .400 in the SEC, but the dude produced throughout his career.
We've taken transfers who have produced far less prior to coming here.
It was a mistake not to take him. Now if you argue that we didn't really have a team need for his position, that's a different argument.
But statistically, there's plenty of context.
41 HRs in SoCon and about the same per-season run production as RJ Yeager, also from the SoCon
Glad MSU got Yeager, who had 27 HRs in the SoCon in 3 full seasons. Big boy got his 41 in just 2 full seasons
ESPN interviewer says that SEC strike zones are tighter, so DiChiara only swings at preferred pitches at Auburn. That's his secret to a 400 average and leading the SEC in Walks
Would've been great to have Sonny and hindsight is always 20/20 but we already had a 1B and With Hines coming in as a 1B/DH I'm sure the staff figured we had needs at other positions instead of carrying 3 guys that could only play 1B or DH. As I said hindsight is always great.
Looking like a good probability of having 5 of the 8 CWS teams be from the SEC. If so you would have Ark, Aub and OM on one side and TX A&M and TN on the other.

The UConn vs Stanford game was nuts......
If ND would stop running into outs, they might just have the lead over TN...
