So tell me again, how many tournament games has Howland won at MSU? And some of you ask why we’re not excited about our men’s team? And you know what, I just reminded myself how pointless it is to try to explain any of this again because others have explained it far better than I can, but it still doesn’t sink in with some of you. You guys will go to your grave thinking Howland is a great coach, or that he’s the best coach we can get, so I’m done trying to explain why people don’t get excited about underachievers. If you don’t get that, I can’t help you.

Someone can correctly if I am wrong but we finished 4th in the league.. 4th
And finished dead last in attendance . Mother ****ing 14th.. that’s embarrassing

If I was a big time coach or player I wouldn’t come here.. why would you?? You play in front of an half empty arena game in game out..

Bc we're a basketball blue blood. We made the final four 24 years ago, so we should be getting in the sweet 16 most every year... something like that.

Right there with you. Somehow Ben's performance on the court (average at best) and his lack of recruiting (outside legacy players) is somehow not his fault, it's the fan's fault? Ha, ha, the poor ole Miss. State mentality truly blows my mind. I don't know if it's an age thing or what? Nobody in my circle of friends thinks like this but I saw it alot from my father's generation. Reminds me of some kids in little league, "don't put me in, I might strike out!!"

Gtown and joebob... let's give you your wish, howland fired today. Who do you go sell this to go a new coach?

Cohen to whoever, "howland was just 68-33 here the last 3 years with an sec record of 30-24. During this period, he's moved from 7th in sec to 6th to 4th in the sec. This is unacceptable to the 1000 fans that show up to the games."

You see unless you're hiring a complete DA, he will see there's zero fan support and howland has turned a disaster into a decent basketball program... and somehow, he was fired for it

ETA... now I'm not naive, someone would take the job when there's millions of dollars. I do think the up-and-comers though would hold off for a better situation. We very well could hit on one of the other much risky guys, but we could miss just as easily.

I agree with this. I'm not a huge fan of howland, although he's did a good (not great) job. To fire him now would be program suicide.

No more "interesting" than they have been. We haven't had fans at games consistently for over a decade. Not like it can get any worse. We had some games this season with a couple hundred people there.
