If it had not been soccer it would have been a four way stop. Destiny. Call it.

Damn, you're coming off really petty and immature here coach.
I always hate to open these threads because I know someone will piss and moan like you just slapped their mother over someone not liking soccer.
This. It's pretty important to understand why the "pro soccer" crowd is talking shit here. It's not a "let's berate people that don't like soccer because we think we are better/smarter/more worldly/whatever", it's purely because he's being butthurt about a HS kid playing multiple sports and getting hurt playing a ***** sport.
I went to a 3A school and quit all sports other than basketball to focus on that sport in high school, mainly because I loved that sport the most. There were many other great athletes at my school (and schools in our league) who played multiple sports. Some even played soccer and football (oh the horror)!!! All this does is further prove Coach is the narcissist we all thought. The kid doesn't live for you, coach. It's his life. You, like every other high school coach in the country, should deal with injuries and personnel as they come. It just sounds to me like you didn't adjust well and need someone to blame it on. It's fine if you don't like soccer, but don't be a d-bag and have a lifetime full of hatred because a kid got hurt. But I'm sure you're convinced he hurt himself on purpose to prove a point, so I'm glad you're still mad 20 years later. **
You can not like a sport without rooting against your country and being a complete ****ing dickwad about it. Huge ****ing difference.
And to add, if one player cost you a spot in the playoffs, you were a shitty coach to begin with.
^^^^^ This is my thought exactly. My senior year in basketball, we lost our best post player to a torn ACL while he was still playing football. It was unfortunate for us, but our coach did a great job of hiding our weaknesses and playing to our strengths, and we won a division title because of his coaching.
If God has a sense of humor, Coach will have a son that plays soccer for Ole Miss one day
