Yea the problem there is that I think Entergy is going to focus most of their efforts to Oxford so there's places in the Delta that could be without power for weeks.

No icing down here on the coast. As for power lines there has been a concentrated effort the last few years to strengthen the power lines on main hub lines and to cut back trees that might be blown down on lines during hurricanes. We had a bad ice storm down here last year and we had no major lines downed due to ice or falling trees.
Buried lines are great but the problem is any lines between you and the Substation that provides your power. If you ever get a chance get a line schematic or you can get in your car and track the lines till you get to your substation and you will know where potential problems can be found.
TVA supply lines and sub-stations were hit hard in Oxford. The one by the university is back up and they're working on the west Oxford and Taylor sub-stations now.
Oxford was on national news this morning along with Booneville and Corinth. That ice looked really crazy. Buried in 12+ inches of snow in PA, but I will take that over ice.
If any of ya'll want to see something amazing pull up the GOES 19 Geocolor Satellite and look at the Snow Swath on the ground from Texas all the way up to Maine.
Any trees left in the grove.
They are around and working the area. Some transcontinental lines of Entergy that supply a smaller electric company took a hit so that smaller company needs that line back going. Also some substations took a lick I believe. May be the end of the week for power where I live. And about to get cold again!!! But at least the ice will be gone
Anyone traveled Hwy 315 between Sardis and Helena Ark ? Trying to figure out travel conditions
Major issues on I-55 from Batesville up through Tate county. Cars are stuck and traffic has backed up.
And this weekend the Temps are going to really plummet. Sat Forecast HIGH is 35.
Yea I've talked to a couple of people who were trying to go Oxford to Memphis til their power was turned back on. One said they left at noon yesterday and got to Memphis at 6 and the other left yesterday afternoon around 3 and was still not past the North Batesville exit last night at 7 PM. Said a lot of people were trying to turn around but then they were getting stuck in the median.
Heard the LA national guard were sending in a few HEMTT to help clear all the semis that were stuck on I20. Not sure how bad I55 is in Batesville, but if people get stranded out there for 24+ hours like in LA then hopefully we do something similar.
