We will get 3 at Mizzou. So basically 3-4 the rest of the way will do it. We can still get to 15 SEC wins if we can get things right. Win tomorrow and win both the Kentucky and Mississippi series

This is what kills me about our fans. Win tomorrow and we will move from last 4 out back into the field of 64. People trying to act like we are having some awful season with no hope of postseason. Our postseason chances are very high- we just have to deliver like we did tonight.
Very nice win
Calling our post season chances very high is a stretch. 1 bad loss down the stretch would be killer. The fact that we are even having to discuss post season ?chances? is sorry.
By MSU standards, this has been an awful season. I mean we are talking about needing to go .600 in the last 10 sec games to make the tournament, forget hosting. The fact that our backs are against the wall to be a top 64 team is pitiful
I think the reality of it is even if we make the postseason we are massively underachieving. This is a team that talent wise should be hosting. Not barely getting in as a three seed.
And basically every issue we have goes straight back to coaching whether it's poor pitching decisions, poor lineup decisions, poor baserunning, or poor fundamentals.
MSU standards changed in 2022 with the portal and NIL. Tenn is a powerhouse program now because of the portal and NIL. It's a new age of college baseball. Tenn bought Mississippi's 2 best players by doubling their NIL that Mississippi offered them. This is college baseball 2025.
Now should we expect to make a Regional? 100%. But regardless of all that- here is where we are right now in 2025 and let's get behind winning some games to finish this season.
Maybe. Because we can make the postseason and still fire Lemonis. I don't think it's we make a regional and he is automatically safe.
Also, I'm not sure if winning outside of getting white hot and winning almost every game is good enough either. Our RPI sits at 45 and we only have four more games against current Q1 teams including tomorrow. If we do get in it's going to be with 14 wins and as a three seed somewhere like Kansas. Basically we can't afford to lose any more series and we have to sweep Mizzou because it's possible that 14 SEC wins with a loss to Mizzou could tank our RPI down to the point where we don't get picked.
And if we do make a regional we're probably going to have to win it for Lemonis to come back. I don't think 2-2 is going to be good enough.
The fact of the matter is Lemonis has pissed off the wrong people and losing the Governor's Cup isn't going to keep Keenum in his corner either. When that happens it's hard to turn it around.
Let me put it this way- the players are expecting some major changes next year so no one is oblivious to the situation.
We have made the postseason once in 4 years and are well on our way to missing it again. We are a so called blue blood elite program and we have fans that are hoping and praying for a 4 seed at a UC Irvine regional. And some claiming that a mythical regional final was something to be proud of. We haven?t had an awful season, we have had an awful 4 years. Go find me Lemons SEC record since the natty
Tennessee does a much better job of identifying team needs- which is the real magic of Vitello. We have money. We don't have a coach that can identify all of the team needs.
Case in point- Lemonis talking about how we only really have two catchers. I guarantee you that comment is never going to come out of Vitello's mouth.
Our standards don't change because we have a coach that can't maximize what he is given.
Still don't see 13-17 getting us in but we will see I guess if we can get to that record. Tonight was still just our 6th win against Q1/Q2 teams. Three Mizzou wins will all be Q3 as well. Too bad u don't get credit for close losses. If you did we would be.a shoe in.
Lemon's biggest problem is remaining loyal to players like Idiot, Trout, Downs, Chester...etc. We should have portaled better players onto the rosters this season.
