Emerson?
I'm not feeling it with Moore, ealy, or mingo

If we can somehow get the guys we're expecting to get plus hang on to Emerson and get Moore and Mingo, I'd be ecstatic
Probably weren't going to get Ealy with Huff, sure don't see us getting him without Huff. RB is just going to have to be a huge priority next year and we will have to hope Hill doesn't jump to the NFL this year (i''m thinking he won't). If we could get Moore and Mingo and hold onto Emerson I would be quite happy with that. I really don't get why anybody is attracted to OM right now. They are going to suck for at least the next couple of years.
I do think we would have signed Ealy if Huff had stayed and it would have been nice from a perception standpoint. I can't see Hill going pro after next year, but if he does that means he had a great year. With the transfer market, Jucos, Kareem Walker, Witherspoon, and 2020 backs, I have to think we will be ok at RB.
I do think we keep Emerson. Not even sure how hard Miami is pushing. Moore-whatever happens there I'm fine either way. Won't be too excited, won't be that disappointed. Mingo is the guy for me. We have his best friend, his QB, a WR coach he knows, and a huge need. This is a guy we need to close on.
Yep, Mingo absolutely makes the most sense for us to get, especially with the OM Rich Rod hire, but somehow he has continued his to maintain his commitment to OM. Nothing makes sense on why he is sticking with that bunch but he has done nothing to publicly back off from them.
We've got 14 guys signed. I expect us to sign Pickering, Cunningham, Payton, Walker, Colin Duncan and Emerson. That's 20. Puts us 5 under the 85 b/c 1 more guy is expected to leave the team. It looks like we are going to take Dylan Lawrence which is fine. I don't really think he has the frame to be a LB, but maybe he can help on special teams. So the only question marks are Moore and Mingo. Then we can go get the grad transfer punter that is visiting. And in my opinion we still need a WR, DT, and a QB. Just need to hit that transfer portal hard to have a good 85.
I was just over at RedCup Rebellion reading about Plumlee's visit. They referred to him as a "4.61 speedster". Have their standards on speed dropped or am I missing something here?
depends on how legit the time is. I remember Alvin Kamara ran a 4.56 at the combine and Kamara can move. Plumlee would be a nice get for Ole Miss and I think he's a good fit. He can start out at QB in the Rich Rod system and then move to safety if it doesn't work out.
Exactly, we are doing everything we can to throw the ball more under Moorhead while OM seems to be intent on throwing it less with Rich Rod yet that isn't helping us with WRs. And OM hasn't done much with RBs recently but Ealy is heading there too. But for him I guess they are selling playing time right? BUT when we sell playing time for WRs or history of RBs for RBs it doesn't seem to work for us either way. And beyond that we should have a MUCH better team than them over the next couple of years. Does nobody care about being on a team more likely to win?
