I think we are around 13 decommitments for the 2016 class. That shit is crazy.
Maybe someone can help me:
Robert Washington
Scott Lashley
Tre Turner
Briston Guidry
Zach Farrar
Raekwon Davis
Zaire Jones

Not bringing turner in for an OV and not getting mcinnis could turn out to be mistakes
We should offer Lorenzo Dantzler tonight. We clearly have room, he's a solid hard working player, & he's buddies with AJ. Worst case scenario, we don't get AJ but we end up with a guy looking to prove he's an SEC player & plays over his head.
We have lesser players with offers &/or committed. And we signed lesser players in each of the last 3 classes. We also had people saying "nah" to Dylan Bradley as well. Guess in 2 years when Dantzler is USM's best defensive player, I can bring him up again like I am Bradley this year.
So we are going to be lucky to have a class ranked in the 30's coming off two good seasons. Oof
Pretty freaking pitiful is what it is. It's as if we lack modern facilities or weight room. No one can convince me that everyone else would have this much trouble getting players here. I'm not sure anybody would.
if it would help with Willie Gay and others, I say do it. There's still time though. This time tomorrow may be the time to think about panicking.
Kobe left his visit at UNM today and went to talk with our coaches this afternoon. We have offered a JUCO DE/OL Gary McRae, former Georgia commit tonight. I think after Farrar.
It's cause there isn't shit to do in Starkville. Other than bulldog bash or super bull dog weekend there is literally nothing to do. I hate to say this cause I've been a state fan my whole life but when we have big recruiting weekends the recruits don't have anything to do really. I wish Starkville would build more shit and have more stuff to do. The population isn't that great there so I understand it is what it is. But unless we are paying the shit out of these players we will never have. Great recruiting class I'm sorry but that's the truth. Last years class was the best I can remember in a long time if not ever since Sherrill was here.
The only thing Oxford has that Starkville lacks is a modern department store. That's quite the attraction for players**
Paul reports that Kobe didn't speak with UNM media after he left and he was not wowed on his visit. Spent a couple of hours with our coaches this afternoon.
Yea McRae was a 4 star out of high school that didn't qualify because of grades. Seems to be one of Buckleys guys from when he was at Louisville. I think it would be a steal to snag this kid. Could turn out to be a big get for us. I'm not opposed to Dantzler either though I think with a couple years in the weight room and the right coaching he could be a diamond in the rough for sure.
I don't know who you think you are, but you don't get to tell me when to stop. You aren't the recruiting guru. I have my opinions, so unless Dantzler carries baggage, I stand by what I say.
If there's more to Dantzler, say it or PM me. Otherwise feel free to disagree, but don't try acting like you can see the future.
McRae is on campus right now after he returned from Louisville. He also received a late offer from TN. He has 3 to play 3 as well
Does the McCrae offer have anything to do with Simmons or because of the spot farrar opened up? Seems strange a de would take a wr spot
Like what? More bars? Cause that's all UNM prides itself on. Oh they will tell you they are a classy bunch and so sophisticated, but real person with class wouldn't have to tell you that. They have nothing to offer that State doesn't. Been there and done that in both places.
Take them ALL .. McCrae, Kobe, Dantlzer even if we do get Simmons....
We HAVE to get better UP front on both sides of the ball...
No doubt it could be much better but yes, Starkville is still a mostly rural town but it is leaps and bounds better than it was 20 to 30 years ago. And it seems to be fine to attract top quality basketball and baseball players as Cohen and Howland are showing. Lack of "hotspots" in and around Starkville is a factor in recruiting for some prospects but I personally don't believe its anywhere near our biggest problem. I really don't want to say anymore on this particular topic until after signing day but I definitely think our coaches could improve their recruiting methods.
