Just need to find one run here. Sims is on, so I feel good about that. These next 2 half innings are huge, both tops of the order due up.
That a boy Rowdey
The offense shouldn't look this clueless this late in the year. It just shouldn't. Cumbest is fine, but he still looks like an idiot at times. If we hadn't insisted Skinner was the best option in left for so long, Cumbest would have the reps to look better than he does now. Clark has so much talent but still has no clue how to read spin, which is on Jake G. Foresyth looks like a beaten dog, and can't even bunt. He's had a full year starting he should be better. Hatcher is terrible, probably worse than previous seasons. Legget isn't good. James has so much potential, but can't read spin and is uncomfotable looking. He's ok because his pure bat speed and hand eye coordination = hits on FBs. But he hasn't really gotten better as the year has gone on. Skinner is a dud so far.
That's a lot of hitters that could/should be better by now. Take away 2 guys who have been studs for years (TA and Rowdy) and this is the worst offense we've fielded in a while. That's on Jake G. Not sure his head was in it this year, maybe he's wanting a HC job idk. But he has not been able to work his late season magic with literally any player, nor did he improve anyone in the offseason. Oh, and our approach often sucks, with guys not sitting on the right pitches, trying to pull when they shouldn't, being impatient when they should take a pitch etc. Sometimes the gameplan is great, but it's rare.
He did elite work in the past. He may be a good recruiter, but Lemones and the State brand will do just fine. It's a game of "what have you done for me lately?" and he hasn't done anything this year. I'm fine with him being gone. Foxhaul too for not developing ANY pitcher during the season
