We have some very talented dumbasses. Hard to watch.
State is better without Jeffries on the floor.
Watching this team gives me Ebola
Tolu smith better have Covid or an injury. If he's out bc of discipline, I'd rather he be gone for good.
He might be in the portal trying to transfer back to Western Kentucky.😳😳
Yeah great idea! Let?s let Tolu go but let?s keep Howland!
Well, the team and the coach weren?t on the same page tonight, but hell, it?s only year 8.
We scored enough points to beat exactly 1 other SEC team tonight.
Tennessee is the only SEC team that scored fewer points than we did in conference tonight, and they did it on the road to a Top 25 LSU team.
The issue with Howland continues to be that we can't score enough points to beat quality opponents.
1 home team lost today, vandy. The sec is tough, and we aren't talented enough to win without our beSt or 2nd best player.
That was not a quality opponent tonight. They had their best guy out and this guy Murrell lit up that vaunted Howland Defense that we are supposed to create offense out of.
Edited to add that we went from 1 large guy named Brooks taking up space on the bench to 2 guys named Brooks that should be eating up space on the bench. No wonder Garrison?s Mommy told him where he was going to college. He is so soft, mommy wanted him playing on a finesse team in a finesse league.
So just to be clear, Howland is in year 7 with a ton of talent, Novac is in year 1 after walking into a terrible situation and Novac has 2 better wins and a much more disciplined/consistent team.
If this season tanks, which looks highly likely, no other evidence needed to prove Howland no longer has the physical or mental energy required and I wouldn't be surprised if laziness and not give a shit hadn't crept in as well. He's prolly missing that So-Cal Cuisine.
We are an offense in slow motion compared to just about every other college basketball team. We don't have much movement to set up shots. It's more like just past the ball around some. It's more of hit and miss (no innovation or creativity) offensive strategy, and it seems to be more misses than hits.
And we don't have any player who is a go to guy for 3s.
Well that was my first game to attend in person this season of MSU basketball and I can honestly say that I know at least 3 or 4 high school coaches who are more efficient teachers of offensive ball movement and moving without the ball on offense. I have no idea what the MSU defensive strategy actually was. There was no anticipation and favoring passing lanes. A better effort was made on D in parts of the 2nd half but Howland never had an answer for the 7 footer which in my view helped the 3 ball shooters have more space. This type effort will lead to no road wins in conference play.
