I wouldn't call that an easy catch. However it's a catch a SEC ball player should make. Also skinner struggled with the previous ball hit to him. He is having trouble seeing the ball out there. It is dark compared to other stadiums.
McCloud didn't pitch his best tonight. But he can not be expected to strike out everyone. So if that play is made, you get a double play and out of the inning 3 runs ago. Also it's a real mental hurdle to get over when your defense lets you down.
This is the exact reason I don't trust him starting game 1 of a regional.
Vandy's scholarship advantage in football terms is like Ole Miss being able to offer 85 full scholarships and MSU only being able to offer 36.5.

Only way we were beating Kumar was to match him pitch for pitch and hope for a 1-0/2-1 type win. At this point, 4-1 is like 20-0, so put in Riley Self and Spence Price and take our beating, then throw the entire staff at them the next two days and hope for a win. That’s my thoughts

There is a good chance the ball Skinner missed was knuckling. It looked like it on TV in slow motion. If you haven?t tried catching a knuckling line drive straight at you in the outfield, I can?t explain it.
