Halter is fine. He has a pull emphasis, heavy front foot drifting lower half that causes him to pull off the ball. He'll turn on some this year & hit 5-7 HRs, but doesn't possess the lower half stability to be a good hitter against pitchers that can effectively change speeds.

We need to pin the ED ScapeGoat 2019 thread somewhere, the candidates are already shaping up:

(1) Skelton's job already being challenged
(2) Halter getting mentioned even on a 2 for 3 night
(3) who threw that dirty inning question by Cadaver

This is good first three games, better than last year- Lemonis is apparently not texting and driving the titanic

Barlow is 46. We need him and Eagan to be able to lock down the lefty roles out of the pen. We missed that last yr.

seems pretty clear who our top 10 pitchers are.

Has Gilbert gotten an AB this weekend? Pretty suprised b/c he swung a good bat this fall and spring.

Ha, no I was hoping Barlow had a good inning, bc reliable LHP is needed on the roster this year. Wondering if he had walked those guys, or what. Glad y'all are taking notes though...Gene would be proud

Wasted AB by Tanner. He has to grind that at bat and get that run home from 3rd with less than 2 outs.

So Peyton Plumlee vs UAB midweek? Anyone know the status of Macleoud?

I have to admit that the new Dude is awesome. We just might have one hell of a team this year.

Impressive stuff overall by the bullpen. If Barlow can get some control , he will be a big piece. Eagan looked good.

We will have a much better feel after next weekend but great start. We have been spoiled by Hunter Stovall over there at 2nd base the last couple of years.

I suspect that we will start Tyler Spring against UAB. Just a guess on my part. MacCloud is rumored to have mono and may redshirt or be out awhile.
