Because he didn't really accomplish that much.

Taggert was 2nd coach at WKU after their move up to FBS - and got them to 7-5 in 3 years. WKU was a very good I-AA program (a Natty and 13 conference titles) and they had a brief adjustment moving up.

USF was good under Leavit but bad under Skip Holtz (because Skip Holtz sucks), Taggert got them to 10-2, but they play in the AAC - and the competition is terrible (Leavit coached them in a much tougher old Big East)

Oregon was coming off a 4-8 year where they had lost 3 games by 3 points each - and he basically flipped those 3 games.

WT isn't a bad coach - but he isn't some miracle worker/next level coach.

Just don't give Akers the ball. Patrick is better anyway

Not one thing has gone right going to Akers. Not all of it is his fault, but damn, it ain't working

Fuente is one hell of a coach. Wish we could've hired him but Lateral Move didn't leave soon enough. I'm glad we ended up with Moorhead, but it remains to be seen if he's in the same class as Fuente. Winning at Memphis is damn near impossible, but Fuente did it.

Haven't watched a whole lot of this game, but from what I've seen, FSU's OL is trash. VT is just smashing them. Francois is constantly under pressure and being hit. No holes for Akers to find. Going to be a long year in Tallahasse if what I've seen from their OL is the case.

Fun seeing VA Tech whipping FL State. Would like to see VA Tech or UVA and one of the NC schools in the SEC East and have MO move on over to the West

Not so sure about that ... Michigan is a huge football name. And as far as I'm concerned, they totally outshine Ohio State academically.

What does academics have to do with coaching football?

Yeah but it's a dead end job where the expectations far outweigh the reality.

They are basically the Tennessee of the north

It's only a matter of time until this happens. We didn't put the SEC Network HQ outside the current membership states in Charlotte for the hell of it. The next SEC expansion will be UNC & one of UVA/VT. Probably within 5 years, definitely within 10.
