When his ass throws like a wide-eyed Freshman on his last outing, which happens to be in the beginning of the season, you damned right that you do put him on the mound.

Holder with the new doo.. got a haircut
Holder needed that outing. And I hope he pitches tomorrow up 12-1 much to Bully13s chagrin and lack of knowledge. Idiot.
nt
Good guys win 7-1. Hits are 13-4 in favor of the good guys and Sparty had 3 errors.
Yeah, I imagine Collins has now locked up the job, at least for the time being. I'm ok with not having the same guy catch both games of a doubleheader, though.
oh so now you are the 2nd coming of Todd 4 state.. I get it.. nice job idiot. neither one of us knows what's going on in Holder or Cohen's head right now. if you don't know the true role of your # 1 closer then you are a 17ing retard and should consider staying away from the computer as well. maybe he needed some reps due to the recovery of his finger. fine. but there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with bringing in some fresh, inexperienced arm in that situation as well. if you don't know that, then you don't know shit. that's how you get the young pitchers prepared for the future. and from a mental standpoint alone, you use your #1 closer for tight situations at the end of a game. bringing them in just for the shit of it in those situations is NEVER the NORMAL call of a pitching coach. those are ALWAYS times to get an inexperienced pitcher on the mound to see how he handles walking out there and taking care of business. baseball is HUGELY mental. so if Cohen just wanted to see how that finger was progressing , FINE.. I'm all about that. but that was NOT the typical appearance of when your #1 closer comes in and in that situation it is ALWAYS time in that situation to bring in a young guy to get a feel of what he is made of.
now flame away with your bullshit..
Well, this has escalated quickly. Bully, the reason you bring in Holder is because we need Holder a lot more this year than any other arm who hasn't pitched much. Considering the long rest time combined with his shaky appearances this year, you need to get him comfortable and locked in BEFORE you need him in a tough, late situation to win a game.
I never said anything about Garner catching. Collins is our catcher. I'd like to find a way to get Detz, Garner, and Humphreys bat in the lineup. Hendu is going to do so somehing stupid potentially in June that hurts us bad.
Goat you are a terrifically shitty poster and the consensus says so. Dive off an internet bridge dickbag.
Oh sorry....you want him to play right field. The consensus says you're a dumbass.
Take a drink, bruh
I was born in '63. And I know a lot about baseball. I also know that typically in that situation, you let someone else go to the mound besides your # 1 closer. if you don't realize that, you've got a lot of learning about baseball.
I also have acknowledged that if Cohen wanted to know how Holder's finger was progressing, it was a good time to bring him out and see how the finger was doing. I'm not totally privy as to the timing of Holder's finger situation. I was just making a point about how typically 7-0 leads are taken care of in the 9th inning. nothing more , nothihng less. just typical baseball talk.
but you made it into a bitch fest. and I realize I'm not old enough to have a grandson typing on a computer board. but based on you pussified bitch fest, I would bet you were not even floating around in your dad's nut sack while I was pounding twats..
Butter X 2
And what kind of baseball. Atari 2600? Intellivision? Coleco? You don't know a damn thing about baseball at the level you argue about. What we do is way ****ing different than the damn travel team and little league your nephew and son dick around with. You sitting in the bleachers in Canton at the rec park isn't the same damn thing as high level D1 baseball. Just because you can download an app and watch a game on the internet doesn't mean you know shit about taking extra bases, pitch selection, or how to run a bullpen for June. Thanks for being a fan.
Here's his cookie
On a different note, just watched Cohen give the most positive post-game interview of the season.
Dear Lord.....this thread turned ugly.
OK.. so all closers are put in despite how many runs they are up in the 9th inning.. please excuse me as to baseball history.. I'll let you experts take over. I'm sure we have no un-proven arms that need experience. no team has ever let un-experienced arms get a shot with 7 run leads in the 9th. ALWAYS the #1 closer gets the call. I digress.. I guess I'm too old and I was mistaken as to when some other pitcher gets the call in those situations.. congratulations experts. I just must have missed something during my 40 years of watching the game. peace out.
Holder was called because he has looked shakey this season when called in close games. This was just to get his confidence back and maybe for his finger (still not sure about all that).
That's the end of it. You blew up for no reason, and people called you out for it. Have a good night
Yep, this pretty much sums it up.
Bully is partially right though, it is not the typical time for your #1 closer to come in...but it is if your #1 closer has looked shaky and may be in need of some live reps and confidence right now. So it was the right move.
This flexing of internet muscles was pretty fun to watch though. Thanks for the laughs.
