He's not fired after this year. Next year we will have a full roster and should show slight improvement (which won't be hard to do). I don't see Scott firing him after 2 years of improvement. Not arguing, just giving my thoughts.

Ray's post game speech...

How bad is it now? I can't even stand to watch.
Well, the "talent" on the floor is mostly due to Bury and Ray has done NOTHING in the last 2 classes to improve on that. Most of last year's signing class is ineligible and Ready is a walking migraine. He brought in NO post presence in this year's class, so if Ndoye is a bust Gavin has NO help once again. Especially since we lose Borchert.
Last year was a tough problem to have for Ray due to the injuries, but you can't be 2 recruiting classes deep and still using the thin bench as an excuse.
I mean this is just embarrassing
You know right now I'm thinking all the money we spent on that IPF was just a big waste. Doesn't seem to be helping our players improve and hasn't helped a lick in recruiting.
team and fans seem to be waivering. not a good sign...
thank God we fouled him because the follow up dunk would've made this embarrassing.
You guys let me know how it turns out....I've got a game of Candy Crush to get to.**
In all seriousness though, we are getting worse. There are teams out there that could wear blindfolds and shoot a higher percentage than our bunch.
The Hump gonna be real empty from here on out. GA just having their way with us, making it look easy. Gavin Ware could not jump over a phone book. FTF looks scared all the time. Sword can only drive to the basket, no outside shot. Borchert is worthless. This is just a team of scrubs.
Gregg Ellis is always making twitter comments to show his disgust for fans not showing up. This effort tonight is why. I am a die hard State fan and I don't see much positivity for the future in the basketball program. We are not recruiting well. We play stupid. We play hard in waves. We don't play a full 40 minutes hard. We can't shoot. We don't rebound well. We lose our man on defense a lot. We don't shoot well and we don't rebound well.
Preacher please save me...
It has gotten so bad, Ray has apparently given TYSON CUNNINGHAM the green light to shoot as many 3's as he wants. This post is not a joke either. He seriously has. He prefers our walk on to have the green light behind the arc over anyone else. And even more sad, I can't disagree with that because we have Zero shooters. Bart Hyche or Whit Hughes would look like JJ Redick if they had played with these scrubs
we're a baseball and football school and don't care about basketball anyway.***
3 of 20 (15%) and counting from 3 tonight. Why are we shooting 3s that much when we know we suck at it?
You guys ready to pony up $2 mill a year for Bruce Pearl yet? We can hire him August 23rd.
Rumor has it, when Stricklin was looking to brick the backstop at Dudy Noble, he called Ray first.

Why? Who gives a shit if we suck at hoops. 4 of 5 Egg Bowls and runners-up in Omaha.
Bama, Auburn, UGA, Tx AM, only have football.
Florida and UK are the only ones who really give a shit about hoops. Times have changed, hoops around here is just not going to return to prominence and I frankly couldn't care less. I'm glad Stans is gone because of the embarrassment factor. Do you REALLY think Bama, Auburn, etc. are upset about their hoops programs?
As long as we aren't causing ourselves public embarrassment and shame I am A-OK with the suck at hoops. Pump it all into the baseball stadium and football budgets please Scott. I hold nothing against you for hoops just like I don't give a shit if we have a bad volleyball program.
I think my TV is stuck in repeat. They keep shooting layups and we keep bricking threes.
Well, to be fair to Ray's coaching on this one, every team we play can pack the paint and dare us to shoot. We have no post presence to threaten the basket, no midrange shooters, so why the hell not. I'd give these clowns uncontested threes all day long. Hell, even when they do get to the basket, none of them have any touch. They just throw it at the rim so even a shot in the paint is not automatic. It's not hard to come up with a scheme to beat this team.
There's more scoring in the Olympic curling competition.
12-23 from the "charity" stripe.
Roc Johnson needs more of Ware's minutes. He can't finish consistently, but he can jump a minimum of 4 inches from the floor.
I'm sure this has been discussed before but I listened to the call in show this week for the first time. Just listening to Ray speak, he wouldn't have made it past the phone interview of I had been interviewing for MSU head basketball coach. If never actually listened to him talk until this week, and this teams inability doesn't surprise me after what these ears heard the other night.
