37 milli to get fired. Man I made a horrible life decision by being a productive citizen.

I?m putting my Mullen to UK prediction in now.
Yeah. And then Lebby ****ed him over on senior day and played the guy everyone wanted the whole game and the fans talked about how awesome it was even though we scored fewer points than only one other SEC game this year so I don't know what he's complaining about there. Lebby did what the fans wanted so that should make them happy.
I agree 100%. That would be like me telling Selmon who to hire. Hell, I wouldn't even get the time of day from them.
I'm just referring to Selmon or any AD. It seems like their hands are tied.. especially with football. Just seems to me that the big boosters are actually the guys who "make the hire."
It's really no different from companies or anything else that involves big money. Shareholders control companies, not so much the CEO.
And maybe not all universities run that way. I'm just going off how the Florida hire was decided this cycle.
Todd, we've said all year Lebby sees these players every day and he will play the players he thinks give us the best chance to win. He said Shapen would play if 100%. Apparently he didn't think he was so he went with KT. The fact it was senior day is irrelevant. So Lebby did not 17 him over. He did what coaches are supposed to do. Grown people should not act like petulant children even when they're pissed.
Agree with Ed here. Lebby didn't play Shapen because the fans wanted him to. Lebby made that decision because he thought KT gave us the best chance to win. Imo Shapen doesn't score anymore points that KT did. OM got pressure all day and Shaoen would have been sacked 6+ times. KT missed throws but Shapen also does. In the end, it wouldn't have mattered. We got to see the future if we can keep him.
I understand your point about Senior Day. But in the end it's a business. Even more now than ever. I'm glad he went with KT. 380 yards of offense isn't too bad. Especially with our O line.
Shapen also went through Senior day last year.
I'm not complaining about it. I'm wondering why someone else was.
But yeah- he did **** him over. Could have had him take the first snap and sat him. Lebby didn't do it but that's his business.
I do think it proves my point that our fans value QB running too much when we played a guy who couldn't complete 50% of his passes the whole game and we scored fewer points and we have fans that talk about how it was the right move.
Why is only the Lebby supporters who are saying Lebby was wrong to play Taylor over Shapen in the Egg Bowl? If you really think he succumbed to fan pressure and made a decision that made us less likely to win, shouldn't that be yet another reason to want to move on from him?
I can agree that Shapen should have started. For sure.
And I'm not a fan that wants just a running qb. I dont want Sellers at SC, any of Auburns QB the past few years, Van Buren, etc. Thats not the kind of qb I want. I want one that can throw and run. I have emphasized alot on KT running abilities and that's only because of our horrendous O Line. And the Egg Bowl showed why it's so important. It's just the ability to turn a negative into a positive. I hope he turns out to be our leading passer in school history and escape the pressure when he needs to. I will never want to just have a guy that can run at the qb position. That's the worse "positive" thing that can happen.. especially in our conference.
I have read this board pretty heavy and haven't seen anyone even refer to a heisman like performance.
What everyone is happy about as fans of Mississippi State.. is a freshman in his first start got the opportunity against their rival who happened to be the #7 team in the country and led an opening drive of 97 yards. In the end, he accounted for over 380 yards of total offense. That's with completing under 50% of his passes.
I can be proud of a performance like that by any of our players. I dont care their name, position, graduation year... whatever. I dont care about none of that. I am proud I watched our freshman qb perform better than most thought be would. Wasn't a "Heisman performance" but considering all the circumstances... it was a damn good performance. Hail State.
Qbr...
Shapen 56.1 (16th of 16 qualifiers in sec)
KT 88.9
Yeah, Shapen was not bad. Considering the OL, he was actually really good. People trying to trash him are always the same ones. They think the back up is always the second coming. They don't really care about the actual issues but somebody has to pay the price for their misery. Never mind what Shapen did and how the defense did not help. But changing out a QB cures all!
I have high hope for KT, but he took just as many sacks on average as Shapen. He passed for 48% vs ole miss.
Yall can get off your knees and wipe the slobber away from your chins boys, Shapen isn?t coming back. Swear, haven?t seen this much jaw stretching since Arnett was running the SEC
Think Lebby made it pretty clear Shapen would play if 100%. Therefore it doesn't really matter who is the better QB. Lebby felt KT was the better choice based on the circumstances. Now why he didn't get the first snap, I wouldn't be surprised if Shapen reacted badly to that prospect and that's why it didn't happen.
I've been out of the loop most of the day aside from a text from a friend about Lane and then a quick scroll of Reddit to read about that. I was happy to come to my favorite State board to find a thread entitled "2026 Football Coaching Staff Tracker." With over 100 posts, I was excited to read about what were surely some major developments. Instead, it's nearly six pages of the same back and forth from the other threads about Lebby, Dan, etc., with no end in sight. Lol. Should've known better.
I think we probably would’ve hit on a big pass or two with Blake and maybe scored 1 extra TD. It would’ve changed exactly nothing. Giving KT the reigns to learn and build was the right move. I do think we probably get 1 extra score and a pick 6/strip sack with Blake
