I was in the stands and ever since I still get a little ill when I see the triple option.
Like PTSD
Dang I agree with Coach34 on something :) I recall the small back OM had (Avery?) retreating from the LOS (after picking up a 1st down) & getting dropped for a loss & the refs giving him a first down (think that was the first drive OM scored on). We definitely looked like the better team for 95% of the game. Just didn't score when we had the opportunities. Also Barron Simpson came within an eyelash of batting down the 2-point conversion. If I recall correctly, Tubs said 'give me my damn trophy'.
And don?t forget Matt Luke playing on one leg.......Sherrill killing them with the tight end in first half....then forgetting what a TE was.....and to top it off Joe Lee D going to prevent (guaranteed score) defense .........Sherrills worst egg bowl behind losing in oxford with Michael Davis on the bench with the ball inside the 10 yrd line and the final game at MSU.......Those two games were HORRIBLE......
Still say losing to a Maine in the rain. Just pissed I was even there to begin with.
2018 Bama was the worst officiated game ive ever seen.
2014 OM costing us arguably a playoff spot then getting beat by GT. I know we were the better team in every game that year outside of arguably Bama and even then that was the first time I actually felt like we had a chance against Bama since Croom.
2018 Florida was nauseating to watch. However outside of Joe's first year I really have detached emotionally a lot from the program and 2020 just furthered it. Leach coming here reignited it a bit but Mullen brought excitement.
Texas AM 2012. I got a first person view of Johnny Football running all over us.
Most of the losses I get mad about are when we lose home games to the mid to lower half of the SEC or non conference games. I just don?t really go in with much expectations against the big 6 now big 8 with Texas and OU. I get really annoyed in most years losing to teams like Ark, UK, Ole Miss, USCe, Missouri, Vandy and aTm is the bridge team so with them it depends on the match up. Kstate at home with Moorhead is an example of a non conference home loss that irritates me. I don?t get so mad about the road games, but unless one of those teams is having a great year like ole Miss 2023 or Mizzou last year, Ark in 2011 etc we should not be losing those home games
1999 Arkansas in Little Rock. For one, we were the better team. I think we had a TE get dragged down in the endzone on 4th down that would have won the game.
Also, I had Arkansas fans two years later apologize when they heard we went to Little Rock. Those fans didn't even go to Little Rock. Worst kind of fans.
After about 20 minutes of walking back to the car and getting harassed, I finally yelled something back to only turn around to see Arkansas fans (woman with 2 little girls) that I apologized to for losing my temper and saying something that those girls were about 10 years from hearing those words.
Little Rock fans are the worst which is saying something since I have been to LSU, Oxford, and Bama.
Every State loss that I have been to or watched since an 8 year old in 1963!
I was a student that game and what stood out to me was Maine had like 1/2 the players and staff we did. Normally you can't see the sideline grass/covering on the opponents side, but during the Maine game they were all spread out and looked like they only brought the essential players/staff with them.
I saw lots of bad football during my time at MSU during the last years of Sherril and most all of Croom.
We haven't quite reached that rock bottom with the team now, but last year was like having flashbacks.
I actually liked the 3-2 game, lol. I love some good defensive games except Auburn actually scored our 2 points for us.
3-2 Auburn was the worse ineptitude of two football teams that I have viewed since my first game as an 8 year old in 1963. Any loss to OM is also maddening.
I hope mine isn't this year.
