Maybe he was thinking medical redshirt? Thinking he did not play in too many games. But can you get one if you leave the team?

As of RIGHT NOW we got three coming back:
Jones
Hubbard
Murphy
Another SEC team is making a big push for Nwoko and has offered him a nice deal.
Murphy this year was a worse version of Tolu last year. Nwoko this year was a worse version of Murphy last year. Agree I'd like another year of Murphy - I really would love him and Hubbard to figure out the PnR. That duo should be damn near unstoppable next year.
I see we got the latest Miss Gatoraid player of the year so nice haul on HS talent.
can Paymon be expected to kinda take Cam Matthews place next season? What is expected from Bartlett, Fleming, Grace and Paul next year?
I mean if he couldn't get on the court over Guy Chol then I'm assuming it's a weight room thing. Also like with the NBA, sometimes it's better to get the role player guys than the team carrier guys.
Jimmer Fredette could carry in college. Danny Green was miles better in NBA. Flip their college careers and UNC doesn't win that Natty / Danny Green doesn't carry BYU anywhere in the tourney.
We need more Danny Green types. Easier said than done.
It's like how Hubbard is the miles better player than Kugel but Kugel has way better pro trajectory.
I will start updating later today the players we have been in contact with and adding them to the list. Just a couple to keep an eye on right now.
Jaylen Sellers-G-UCF
Ja’Borri McGhee-G-UAB
Sellers is in the portal. I would expect McGhee in within the next couple of days.
Kugel could be a quintessential 3 and D guy if he would tailor his game to that. He is still trying to operate as a primary option instead of a 3 and D type player. And the thing is, Kugel would be our first ACTUAL 3 and D guy. We tried to make Melendez and Jeffries that but they just are not those types of players. If Kugel can accept that role he can make a difference for us and make himself some really money in the NBA because that is what he will be in the NBA
I can see letting Clary finish the semester in the classroom (or in the Templeton Center with tutors or online, as they are "student athletes", LOL), but did he continue to sit on the bench during games and worse than that continue to collect NIL? Taylor, Whitmore, and now Clary, do we have a big "S" for sucker on our coaches' foreheads?
Michael Nwoko officially in the portal.
Everyone does it. That tag is just for kids who don't want to talk to programs. They want to speak with them through the agents.
Every last one of these kids has a pretty good idea where they're going when they enter. Most have it down to 3 schools by the time they officially enter. Some enjoy the visit portion, generally it's the G5 or lower level guys who didn't get to experience it, but most just prefer to let the agents handle everything and they are just told who will meet the price and that's how the final decision is made
Probably earlier in the thread, I mentioned it a day or two ago. Something could change but they?ve offered him a very nice deal and got him in the portal. It?s been in the works for a while now, never say never though if another team tries to come in last minute.
The staff may keep Foumena on now to help provide some depth for down low. I wouldn?t expect his usage to change much though.
Hopefully we can sign Josh Dix and Themus Fulks! That would be fun on TV and for other teams student sections!
So that sparks a thought. We've always heard that roughly 40% of those who enter the portal never land at a new school. But intuitively it's likely a much lower percentage for SEC players? Meaning a much higher percentage are sought after and actually have a pretty good idea where they'll land. Has anybody seen an actual figure for the SEC?
Martavious Russell officially in the portal. I would expect we see 1-2 more join before the end of the weekend.
MJ flashed some potential. Interested to see where he ends up.
