Yep. Kind of jumps off the page doesn't it. Must have been quite a workhorse with 110 innings pitched. That is equivalent to 12 full games. And a heck of a ERA with that many innings pitched.

Cowan is a sinker ball pitcher with an elite change up. And we're interested for sure
It's not surprising that we have interest in at least 2-3 Big 10 pitchers. It felt like we never really had a full deck of pitchers last year. If we can get Loftin and Grant healthy we could be really good. Pico will also be 100% next year. Black just needs to refine his command a little bit. Stevens will hopefully make a jump. We're going to work the portal and make sure that we have enough arms competing in the fall. Gage Haley had a really good game in summer ball the other night. He could be a surprise for us.
Jimmy Keenan is IN the Portal
Send him the MSU catcher swag and welcome to the SEC brochure. This is a top, top player. Cut the NIL on one of these nameless and worthless basketball player that we don't even care about.

St Johns staff Ace for next year, Mario Pesca is in the Portal
6-8 245 kid. RHP
Not incredible stats but wins games. 6-1 w/L with 2.96 ERA. Gets out by making people hit the ball to defenders.
MSU should try to get Soprano kids on the roster. Have Big ***** and Chrissy Multisanti talk to the whister and the shitty umps of the SEC.
Does not work that way. Each sport’s NIL is allocated for. If we get him, cool. If not, then oh well. We have more pressing needs than C. We need MIF’s, corner IF’s, at least one OF, and a couple of SP’s before we start looking at positions we are stockpiled at.
You have no catcher dude. Last year we had a fireman and Pitt's backup catcher stepping up. Now you have a dude recovering from Tommy John. Highfill is athletic enough and powerful enough to DH and even corner IF. A High IQ catcher is like a Utility Knife, almost do-all. Even a GOAT like Bryce Harper went 1B, DH, and OF after TJ. Gives Highfill a full year to recover and go back to catching.
I think with baseball players you get the best you can find and then figure out their positions later.
I?m cautiously (emphasis on cautiously) optimistic about our portal possibilities.
Frei just committed.
Chris Lemonis to the rest of the SEC and MSU fans that don't believe.

You want to be strong up the middle. C, 2nd, SS, CF and of course P. This season we were not strong at C and 2nd. At this point, we have zero up the middle.
Just a heads up, I'm hearing Moffett possibly to A&M
Cyr committed to Florida
Couldn't decide where to post this but I'm also hearing the news on the MLB draft isn't looking good for us right now either.
lol i know and what i heard he's asking is crazy money. Only a couple of schools can/will pay what he's asking. These kids are getting a high opinion of themselves. Admittedly he's got some talent but he's still very raw. We'll see how it shakes out but he was pretty confident about coming to State last week but his asking price is pretty insane.
He isn't deserving of crazy money. He has a career 6.11 ERA with 15 BBs to 21 Ks. If someone wants to overpay, then go ahead. He's a project no matter where he goes. If I was him, I'd probably want to go to the guy who lowers ERA's. Just me though. Now maybe he doesn't think he can make it at the next level so he wants to get all he can at this level. Completely understandable, but we shoudn't want guys who can play at the college level. We want guys who can play at the next level. You obviously have to take some just college level guys, but you sure don't overpay for them.
Exactly. I watched him enough while he was growing up and in high school. 100% arm talent, very little polish. His mechanics were all over the place and breaking ball was hit or miss. You know like i do though at that level of hs ball he got by just on chunking it. He did almost zero work in the off season with real instructors to refine his skills so he's gonna take some real work. If he finds it though, he's gonna be heck to deal with!
I'm just glad we got our national championship in before NIL. We will likely never see another. NIL has totally negated any recruiting advantage we had due to our playing atmosphere and fan support. Now schools with much less fan support and way smaller crowds but tons of money are taking players in the past we would have gotten.
Foxhall killed us more than anything with Skenes. With Montgomery, I don't know that we'll ever get the full story on that one. Maybe it was just truly he didn't want to play in MS. And if that's the case, then I get it. I just find it really hard to believe with what we offered him NIL wise that he wouldn't have sucked it up for 10 months
It is what it is at recruiting. What is the word with the 2 Miami players?
