I honestly think this is the first time our basketball team has the potential to over achieve since 2004 when we won the SEC but of course our recruiter blew that in the tournament. It is pretty clear that any games we lose this year will most likely be because we got out talented. I loved the Jans hire from day 1 and nothing has changed my mind. We might not beat Marquette, but I think we have a strong shot at winning the rest of our non conference if we keep this hustle and effort up.

Everyone stating we don't have the talent need to do some research on our players. May not be 5 stars, but we have a STRONG group of very experienced players. With an intense coach in Jans, I am looking forward to busting all the pre-season SEC rankings. This is a top 5 SEC team, versus the 9th prediction.
The new AD needs to do something about the crowd. What else is there to do in Starkville on a Thursday night?!? Pathetic stands from a tv perspective.

Really like how this team plays. We haven't seen this in some time. We have enough talent to give a lot of teams trouble.
Jans coaches on the sidelines. Really like what I see from him and the players response. He looks like the perfect hire from where we were and that ain't a knock on Howland. Howland did what he needed to - get talent in and show others good talent can come here and do well. We need a hard nose attacking coach (a Bulldog) and that is what we got. It's early but Cohen gets an A so far on this hire.

Assuming he could actually coach zone, I think this was probably howland's worst mistake. We were in most games with him, but just a few extra stops coulda made a world's differenceQuote:
