No, you didn't state them as opinions. Do you know the difference in a fact and an opinion? You said, "if we don't turn it over, we win". You weren't saying that was your opinion....you were saying it was a fact, and you are still trying to say it in this post!

And no, you didn't say they would only regress after Spurrier left....you said they would regress "even with Spurrier". See, if you would have actually said the things you are claiming you said, instead of the things you ACTUALLY said, you wouldn't have been called out.

I am all for a good debate, but don't get mad when I point out mistakes and lack of foundation in your posts. I am wrong all the time, and instead of changing my story and spinning my words, I just take responsibility for getting it wrong. I don't dislike you...I actually enjoy a lot of your posts. But get thicker skin, or else be more accurate with your posts if you don't like debating and getting them called out.

I would hope USC was a stable upper echelon program in the SEC since they had two hall of fame coaches to get them there. My point is they will not hire another hall of fame coach and the foundation will crumble...

Just like MSU has increased their revenue 6x over in the last 5 years USC is going to have tremendous growth in money. I don't see them falling back because they are too rich to do so right now. It would take a historically bad hire to go back to a 4-8 type team. They are rich. Even if they hire a shitty coach (very doubtful) they have so much going for them in everything else surrounding the football program it'll be enough to mask said shitty coach to be at worst a 6-6 team. Then they'll just hire another coach till they get it right. They might fall back to 6-6. At worst.

Spending money on academics I believe this. On sports I think MSU is ahead but they are building a new stadium so maybe not.

Endowment money has nothing at all to do with athletics. If it did, college sports would be run by Harvard and Yale.

We can bid with Baylor. But we can't with the teams that are actually going after Briles this year.

I really don't have any idea as to whether or not we could outbid Baylor for Briles, but even if we could, I don't think it would matter. The guy was born and raised in Texas, played WR at Houston, graduated from Texas Tech, spent the next 30 years coaching at Texas high schools, coached running backs at Texas Tech, then became the head coach at Houston, and now he is at Baylor.......it is safe to say that the guy is a fan of the state of Texas, and as long as he is able to make millions of dollars and win football games there, I really don't see him leaving for any program outside the state, much less MSU.

I'm not seeing what the Hud woolies are seeing. Hud struggled with the same team Mullen destroyed. Hud had a big lead and almost lost it. That's the same crap our know all fans hold over Mullen's head. And before you start with SEC talent versus Sun belt remember our talent is medicore In comparison to the SEC and Freeze. Another thing Hud is bringing in transfers and equal talent to State's two and three stars. I also saw no fire on the sideline.

Hud's a great coach. Kart night wasn't his best showing for sure... but like I say with Dan, bitching about a win is stupid in college football. I am just fine beating BGSU and UK by one score every single season. Just don't lose.

That said, I'm still firmly in CDM's corner and I think it's dumb not to be before the season is even over. We've sill got football to play.

Spurrier gets the credit for building them up, but SC has been building that program up for longer than Spurrier has been there. It started with the Holtz hire, and then he retired and gave way to Spurrier. Between the 2 of them, that program has been stable as an upper echelon SEC program for a decade plus now. Maybe they have had a year or 2 not at that level, but for the most part they are consistently in the discussion. That program stability has them in position to maintain this level for years to come. Could they hire Sly Croom part deux and regress? Sure. But they could also hire almost anyone they want and continue to maintain and/or build.

I can see them dropping because they were able to get those guys because they Had Spurrier coaching. Other then Saban who would you want to play for if you had a chance. Thier recruiting will drop off unless they make the right hier.
