Actually- the OK was given to fire Croom after the 3rd or 4th game of the season. It was left up to Byrne and he didn't tip his hat until the Egg Bowl beat down

I agree with all this except one part. The decision makers decided at the beginning of the year this was cdms last year regardless of record. That is why the urgency for Mullen to get a new agent and why his game plans are sh$t. He is sticking it to us on his swan song. Because for the need for the cigar boys stepping in once again it made the UF/Stricklin marriage even more likely. It's a real good chance we have a person that wants this job lined up.
Since the ED owners and almost all its members want Mullen fired, you should show how serious you are and raise up part of the how ever many millions that will cost. I'd be very interested in how important much getting a new coach is to you guys when it comes to your pocketbook.
I agree with this. If LSU does not offer him the permanent job, I really hope we will. It's pretty obvious that our recruiting has not been very good for a long time. Coach O excels in recruiting, the players love him, and I'm sure he would hire some great assistant coaches.
Someone in "the know" and help me understand if there is anyone currently on staff worth keeping (ala Hughes) when the changes do happen? For some reason I think T. Buck is worth trying to keep. Sirmon is probably out as a new coach would want a new DC, but anyone on staff that is new that has proven themselves recruiting so far that is worth trying to keep?
That was me talking Kingsbury with Starkvegas. His first 4 games this year his team averaged 59.5 points per game. Last night he scored 38 with a QB who had an injured shoulder and was a game time decision.
Instead of looking at his W/L record, I'm looking at what he has done offensively at Houston, aTm and TT. At all 3 places he has had explosive offenses. In their losses last year they scored 52,35,27,53,26 and 27. Doesn't sound like opposing defenses are the problem for him.
If what you said about Gundy is true, he should be very high on a list also.
I bet #5 changes after OM beats us like we stole something
I don't want to pile on at this point because it really does nobody any good. If changes are to be made at the end of the season then I won't be involved in it anyway but I certainly won't be opposed if they are made. Only thing I will say is that it is sad in the fact that I have never seen a coach squander such an opportunity to truly elevate a program as Dan Mullen did following our landmark 2014 season where we spent 5 weeks as the talk of all of college football. Such a waste and right here at the time that the Bears are going to be slammed by the NCAA.
