I'm going with 6-6 maybe 7-5 if we have a QB that matures quickly. Hopefully the OL will mature and be better than what most think.

This time last year people were talking about how bad LSU's QB play was- and they had us 21-3 in the 3rd Quarter and then Miles just decided to run the clock on us. Auburn's QB play will be better and their juco transfer might even win the job for them. They are very good on the OL and DL- and that will always give them a chance. They have a top 10 class coming in to help. Their questions are at WR and LB moreso than QB I think.
One thing working in our favor is Auburn has to play Clemson, A&M, and LSU before they play us. They could be beat up and/or deflated with a couple losses. On the flip side- the GusBus could be coaching for his job when he comes to Sville.
Beter tell Ole Miss that.
The option is the option is the option.
There's a reason it's been around forever.
Everybody has known how to defend it for 60 years, but knowing and having the discipline to do it , are two different things.
I hope we go back to the "Relf" Offense.
All these QB's can throw better than him and it's not as hard for the Oline to run.
I agree. If Relph had been able to consistently hit water from a boat when passing, we would have been undefeated that year. So many times a halfway decent pass would have made the difference in those 4 we dropped that year. One reason that so many of us were astounded by his play against Misheeegan.
We should beat USCe. I'll never be scared of an A&M defense. Auburn has been consistently overrated under Gus. Ole Miss is on fire. Arkansas has went full fledge pedestrian and are as predictable as we were under Croom with numbnuts calling the shots up there. Then there's Kentucky. Then we have our OOC schedule. That's 10 very winnable games. I say we get to 7 comfortably with a chance to get to 8 in the regular season. I'd actually set the U/O at 7.5 for this team.
its not about wrinkles- its about the fact our OL is not getting seams for the RB on the zone play. The Read aspect is no good if the LB's arent really that worried about the TB. Our OL guys are struggling and getting eaten up by the down linemen- unable to get to the 2nd level and block the LB's.
That's our problem
If we can't beat this SC team at home, we won't have to worry about going bowling, we'll win 4 or 5. If that happens, Mullen will be willing to take a big salary cut to get out of Starkville. I promise.
I see what you are saying, and agre we are going to throw more interceptions, but i dont think it will be as bad as you are predicting. I think this because I just don't think we will throw the ball nearly as much next season. I am thinking 20-26 attempts per game. Fitz won't go out there and have the opportunity to throw the ball 45 times like Dak did this year. I expect our offense to look a lot like it did in 09' with Dixon and Lee. The inexperience will cause Dan to simplify the offense from years past and I think it will help in the long run.
I think we can win 8 games - 4 OOC (BYU lost to Mizzou last year), SC, Au, Ark, UK
I want some early vcash odds on the media picking us 7th in the West at media days
We don't have anyone like Jovon Robinson, Carl Lawson or Montavious Adams on our team.
As for A&M they have the best DE tandem in the country, not just the SEC, along with a boatload of talented offensive players. If they get decent QB play from the OU transfer, they are going to give everyone but Bama problems.
