The rumor out of Red Stick for about the last week is that Josh Heupel may be ready to make the move. I definitely think he AT WORST listens to LSU.

I watched a Vols podcast yesterday and the word is Heupel has lost a lot of support b/c he isn't making the playoffs this year. It's crazy, one down year and everyone wants your head.
If we were 8-1 I'm sure Lebby's name would be all over the Tennessee boards.
With all the HC changes, that might allow us to upgrade our assistant staff. There should be some available I would think.
I really think we are going to start seeing very few coaching moves within the conference. These are NFL jobs now. The grass is less clearly green between jobs and immediate expectations are going to turn off coaches from making jumps. Once you're in the door with an SEC job, if you're a coach worth a shit, you can showcase that with the way the portal is.
People can bitch all they want but NIL and the Portal have leveled the playing field and created parity. You don't have to go coach at a certain school to have a shot at a NC.
If we can deliver $25 million in NIL for Lebby and the coaches they can put together a team from what's about to be in the Portal that could be a playoff contender. No joke.
There's some chatter that Auburn is trying to get into the James Franklin sweepstakes.
he won't mesh well there?
Now Shaq is saying he has some very good sources telling him Saban and LSU are talking. Doesn't mean he is coming back but they are in the talking stages.
I wonder how much is Alabama paying Saban these days.
Very true.
Unfortunately, if our board can even remotely be considered a representative sample of the fanbase, we've got far too many stick in the mud folks that revert to the "a free education should be enough", while completely refusing to acknowledge the current state of CFB.
That being said, our admin needs to branch out and get as much commercial/business $$$ into NIL as possible. Cohen didn't do this. Selman has made strides in catching up, but there's still more to do obv.
The future CAN be bright (if we want it to!).
I don't see from a financial model how this can sustain. I can see it short term, but to ask people to throw in millions without some ROI is unreasonable long term. Also for self made millionaires, this model does not really entice at all.
A commercial business might benefit, unless they have a business beyond the region and into the footprint of other schools.
Replying to this post because it reminded me to ask this. But for anyone, what is this projected model beyond 5 years, or what benefits will boosters get for the contributions.
