Have they had 3 lead off doubles today?
OSU can swing the bats. We are pretty fortunate this isn't worse than it is. Still in it, but only just.
Yeah, I know about the studies, and that's probably true with a baseball thrown by a human. If a machine did it with enough spin, it might happen. Studies also say that a curve ball can't curve (curves basically go down, not side to side), but they can drop faster than a fast ball would do, so it's aiding gravity and falling faster.
Some studies also say the same thing about a golf ball ... that it can't curve, can't rise ... but I guarantee you that it can do both.
Announcers and fans also speak about a pitcher's "velocity", when what they really mean is "speed". They speak of him having a velocity of 95 mph, for example, but don't mention direction. Velocity is a vector quantity that has both direction and speed. A mere technicality.
Back to the game ... we're getting hammered ... figuratively.
I'm sorry, but we are not beating this team. Not today, not tomorrow, not this year. We've got freshmen looking clueless and 2-0 count bunting catchers....they've got guys trying to knock the damn fence down with line drives. Men vs Boys
Did I hear him say that they were confiscating bananas at the gate because of the "no outside food or beverage" rule? They're being a little nitpicky ... I doubt anyone intended to eat the banana they bring in, and I doubt they sell them at the concession stand.
Getting that guy is shocking
At least James is challenging them
Ball muther****ing 1
I don't know about actually rising, but it can slow the rate of descent.....at least a little. That can make it appear to rise. I tend to agree that it would be next to impossible to generate enough loft to overcome downward trajectory and gravity on an overhand thrown ball.
I wish we'd just throw first pitch strikes!!!
Threads like this are when I miss C34 banning stupid ****ers that would rather argue other posters than post about the game.
