This James thing really hurts....we keep losing our #1 CB targets and that's going to catch up eventually unless we hit on some underrated guys. We were incredibly lucky with Dantlzer and looked like we were going to have that happen again with James. To Shotgun's repeated points, at what point at time do kids see us as just as good a program to go to as everyone not named Bama? We still seem to be a second tier team to most recruits and have trouble repeatedly against programs like ARK that we've been better than for some time now.
We're staring down a very real possibility of losing all 3 of our CB targets late in the game
The main recruiting guys here strangely silent with it being signing day eve and the big fields' rumor. Kinda concerning... hopefully not a bad day tomorrow
Brooks isn’t flipping IMO. Emerson is 50/50. James is gone.
Just a heads up Big4, say stuff like and people will want you banned! Sensitive people in these parts
I was basing that on if Brooks flips to ARK. We lost Mason and an OL late to them although we did end up with Brule who I liked better than Mason anyway. The James thing hurts though if he leaves as I had high expectations for him. I was hoping an Auburn offer wouldn't move the dial with him - I was more worried Saban would take him into waiting and find room
Masons coach worked that. The OL was about our 4th option and it was Hev. I don’t mind losing either of those. Neither were prized recruits.
1. We suck at branding. I've wondered if we should attempt to change our colors? Although controversial & I'm sure it would infuriate many, but it the simplest, cheapest solution that could differitiate us from Arkansas, A&M, Bama, & Oklahoma. We need something unique that creates a brand. Overall we are bland.
2. When we lose a kid, it's usually to their in-state school. We MUST create that same loyalty among our in-state kids.
3. The James thing is extremely frustrating because it feels like Auburn has been planning this for sometime. They don't want to take his commitment, so they just offer at the last second prevent him from signing & thus giving them more time to figure things out. It's a pretty savvy move by them, but I really can't blame an in-state school waiting on his in-state school. It's the fact that we can't get the Mississippi kids to do the same that is so frustrating.
Jame sis a direct result from decomittments that happened today
Everybody loses kids to AL and AU. And believe what you want, we are 2nd tier to them. Nine wins a year don’t matter to kids. Winning titles and making pros do. But we’re gaining on AU and Saban will die one day.
#1. Yeah, change our colors, that will certainly make a difference in recruiting. Heck, we change our uni's about every game these days. Maybe wearing a recognizable one will do the trick on a weekly basis! Maybe in Maroon and white. I'll contact Oregon and see if they have any suggestions!******* Hail State!
Need a Raydar miracle
We're gonna find out what JoMo is made of on the recruiting trail here.
The last 12 hours before signing day separates the men from the boys.
Appears he's 0-1 with James
