Agree, just don't have that kind of confidence in Stinnett

I don't think it was dumb at all to save sims. You were dealing with 2 factors:
1. We only need 1 win to go to championship series and we weren't leading
2. Rain
Whoever the last Jack Sparrow pitcher was, he didn?t have it from pitch one. He was lost after leaving the bullpen. Leaving him in past the 1st batter was asking to be bent over.

Guys. Please think. You don't bring Sims in with that level rain coming in. You get him maybe for 1 inning and that's it.
Lemonis knew the rain was coming in. He tried to slow play it as much as he could to get the rain in there before Stinnett has to throw. But if you go 2 hour rain delay, which is what this will be, and you throw Mac or Sims, you aren't bringing them back out and you lose one of your best bullets in the 9th in a tie game.
Stinnett couldn't grip the ball and it completely affected him just now. The whole world knew that 3-2 to Melendez was going to be a FB because he couldn't grip the breaking ball in the rain.
Made our guy pitch in the rain and when TX took the lead they stop play. That's bullshit.
Honestly, this game would've been over had Rowdy not sucked with bases loaded. Then Landon would've come in top9 and slammed the door. But here we are.
Why did they wait so long to tarp the field? Obviously we were affected by it.
I'm disgusted. Goodnight. **** you Chris Lemonis with a rusty nail.
So are we looking at resuming around midnight?
Sims would have been a risk, if it went extra innings he might pitch too many to be available for tomorrow. We didn't have a lead. If we have a lead then yeah Sims. The way our bats have been likely going extra innings. If you don't have Sims tomorrow then we are in serious trouble.
I would almost have rather stayed with Brandon Smith as to go to Stinnett. Stinnett is too wild. Even Cade Smith would have been better if we were determined to save Sims. He had to groove the fastballs because he had already walked the guy before and got behind the next hitter. Pitching from behind all the time spells trouble.
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride will be inscribed on MSU's tombstone.
Maybe next year.
Goodnight fellas.
I just don't understand at least not going with Sims for an inning there.
You have all the momentum, you have Tanner Allen coming up bottom 9....at least go Sims for an inning to give us a chance to walk it off. If we don't, take him out so you have him tomorrow if needed. But when you finally claw back in it, and have a chance at a Title....you don't leave it up to Smith and Stinnett. Lemo overthought that move
I told y'all bout Foxhall. Jay Powell said the pitch calling was bad too.
If we had brought Sims in at the start of the ninth we would have got 3 outs and been at bat when the rain came.
The fact that Kellum Clark and Rowdey don't even put the ball into play was a killer when we had the chance.
You aren't guaranteed 1 inning of Sims there with the rain. You might get him for 1 before the rain comes in.
And my guess is Lemonis is concerned throwing Sims potentially back to back days. Hasn't done it all year. That had to be a consideration by Lemonis.
The plan very clearly seems to be protect a Bednar/Sims possibility for an elimination game.
